Work Schedule: This role is primarily onsite in Madison, WI to support executive leadership engagement, clinical and operational partnership, and enterprise collaboration. Expected to maintain a regular on site presence, with flexibility to work remotely from time to time as business needs allow. Occasional off hours availability may be required to support critical technology operations and enterprise priorities. Be part of something remarkable UW Health is seeking an accomplished Chief Technology Officer (CTO) to provide executive leadership for the enterprise technology platforms that support clinical care, digital innovation, and health system operations.
- Reporting to the System Vice President / Chief Information and Digital Officer, you will be accountable for the reliability, scalability, resiliency, and performance of mission critical technology services across the organization. Lead enterprise technology architecture, platform engineering, and infrastructure modernization, ensure secure, stable, and future ready technology foundations.
- Oversee cloud platforms, data centers, networks, unified communications, enterprise monitoring, disaster recovery, data protection, and IT service management, with a strong focus on automation, standardization, and operational excellence.
- In close partnership with clinical informatics and information security leaders, support clinician facing platforms, virtual care, and emerging technologies while maintaining high standards for safety, availability, and regulatory compliance.
- As a trusted executive advisor, translate complex technology decisions into clear, actionable guidance, building organizational confidence and enabling consistent adoption across UW Health.

Education:
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as Engineering, Computer Science, Business Administration, or related field Required
- Master's degree in a relevant field such as Computer Science, Business Administration, or Public Health Preferred
Work Experience:
- Seven (7) years of progressively responsible management or supervisory level experience in information technology Required
- Experience with an academic medical center Preferred
- IT leadership experience in a similar size and scope organization or system Preferred
- Demonstrated success leading a combination of IT functions, including infrastructure operations Preferred
- Demonstrated success driving significant enterprise-wide organizational change management, in collaboration with operational partners Preferred
- Demonstrated success driving the adoption of innovative IT capabilities resulting in significant realized value Preferred
- Demonstrated success forming and sustaining collaborative, trusted-advisor relationships with stakeholders and colleagues Preferred
