The Clinical Decision Support (CDS) Engineering team, aunit withintheOptum InsightTechnologyorganizationis responsible forbuilding commercial productshelping payers and providerswith administrative and clinician focusedCDS solutions.We are seeking asoftwareengineerwho cancontributeacross software, data, and AI/ML disciplinesto enhance existing CDSsolutionsas well aswork onthe development of exciting new products.CDS is an area that truly touches payers, providers,as well as members and one where you can havea huge impacton improving the healthcare system for everyone.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Contribute to the design, development, testing, and deployment of software applications
• Write clean, maintainable, and well documented code following established engineering standards and best practices
• Participate in code reviews and incorporate feedback from senior engineers
• Collaborate with team members to translate business and technical requirements into working solutions
• Assist with troubleshooting, debugging, and resolving software defects
• Participate in Agile ceremonies such as sprint planning, stand ups, and retrospectives
• Learn and apply new tools, frameworks, and technologies as part of ongoing professional development

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field
• 2+ years of foundational knowledge of at least one programming language (e.g., Java, C#, Python, or similar objectoriented language)
• 2+ years of basic understanding of software development concepts such as data structures, algorithms, and version control (e.g., Git)

Preferred Qualification:

• Strong problemsolving skills and willingness to learn
• Good written and verbal communication skills
• Internship, coop, or academic project experience in software development
• Exposure to web technologies, APIs, or databases (SQL or NoSQL)
• Familiarity with Agile or Scrum development methodologies
• Basic understanding of cloud platforms or modern DevOps concepts

Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, we offer benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). No matter where or when you begin a career with us, you'll find a far-reaching choice of benefits and incentives. The salary for this role will range from $72,800 to $130,000 annually based on full-time employment. We comply with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
