National Grid is hiring a Business Process Workstream Lead for our NY Electric Operations - Digital Solutions department. This position can be located in Massachussetts (Northboro or Waltham) or Upstate New York (Syracuse or Albany).

Job Purpose

Responsible for leading the assessment, redesign, and optimization of DERMS business processes to ensure they are efficient, scalable, and aligned with both organizational goals and DERMS technology capabilities. This role ensures that DERMS processes are clearly defined, standardized where appropriate, enabled by technology, and supported by effective change, training, and performance measurement frameworks.

The role provides endtoend accountability for process design and improvement activities within the DERMS program and ensures that redesigned processes are successfully transitioned into daytoday operations.

Key Accountabilities
  • Lead the development of proposed future state DERMS processes to identify inefficiencies, bottlenecks, risks, and improvement opportunities across the organization.
  • Define and deliver future state DERMS processes using industry best practices and structured methodologies (e.g., Lean, Six Sigma), ensuring alignment with business objectives and operating models.
  • Ensure redesigned processes are effectively aligned with DERMS technology solutions, identifying opportunities for automation, digital enablement, and workflow optimization.
  • Partner with Product, Data, IT, Architecture, and DERMS business stakeholders to ensure process requirements are clearly understood and embedded into system design and configuration.
  • Define process roles, responsibilities, and handoffs to support clarity, accountability, and operational efficiency.
  • Collaborate with Change Management, Training, and Communications workstreams to support successful adoption of new or updated processes.
  • Ensure comprehensive process documentation is developed, including process maps, workflows, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and supporting materials.
  • Establish process performance metrics and KPIs to measure effectiveness, efficiency, and outcomes postimplementation.
  • Create feedback loops and continuous improvement mechanisms to ensure DERMS processes remain effective and adaptable over time.
  • Support transition to businessasusual operations by ensuring processes are stable, understood, and supported postgolive.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree or 5+ years' relevant and progressive experience.
  • Strong project management, time management, and problem-solving skills.
  • Effective collaboration and partnership capabilities.
  • Background in utility service business activities and projects preferred.
  • Electrical engineering background in utility industry preferred.
  • Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record.

Salary:

MA: $132,000.00 - $155,000.00 USD annually

Upstate NY: $118,000.00 - $138,000.00 USD annually
