The Role Under the direction of the Director of Individual Market Sales/Small Group Sales and Broker Relations, you will serve as the strategy and business development partner for Northern California at Providence Health Network (PHN). Your mission: to grow our business, drive net new patient growth in Individual Family Plan/Small Group, bolster Medicare retention, and expand individual memberships across our California service area. Based in Northern California, you will work closely with PHN leadership teams to shape the future of healthcare delivery. What You'll Do
- Master Strategist: Lead the development and execution of strategic growth priorities and business plans for OC/HD Medicare initiatives in collaboration with the Senior Director of Individual Market Sales and Broker Strategy.
- Membership Expansion Champion: Implement strategies to expand IFP and Small Group memberships, with a keen focus on driving growth within Covered California's small business market.
- Broker and Agency Relationship Builder: Cultivate and manage relationships with brokers, ensuring alignment with business objectives to optimize engagement and boost member acquisition and retention.
- Brand Visibility Innovator: Collaborate with marketing and provider relations teams to devise and deploy initiatives targeting Covered CA's Small Group members, enhancing brand visibility and enrollment.
- Strategy Coordinator: Collaborate with divisional, local ministry, physician enterprise, legal compliance, and marketing & communications stakeholders to ensure seamless implementation of strategies.
- Sales Channel Partner Liaison: Serve as the relationship owner of IFP/Small Group sales channel partners, including insurance payors, distribution sales networks, and regional insurance agencies and brokerages.
- Market Analyst: Present market opportunities and issues through comprehensive business cases, assessing the impact of growth or loss to key stakeholders and leadership.
- Healthcare Trend Watcher: Stay abreast of healthcare trends and competitors' activities within the IFP and small group segments to identify and capitalize on emerging opportunities.
- Customer Relationship Champion: Collaborate with marketing on CRM processes following lead collection to identify outreach and lead nurturing opportunities.
- Operational Problem Solver: Work with internal teams and external stakeholders to address and resolve operational issues in Medicare Advantage and Commercial products, ensuring optimal member experiences.
- Onboarding and Retention Innovator: Develop and implement best practices to enhance Medicare Advantage patient/member onboarding and retention.
- Compliance Guardian: Ensure that strategies and tactics adhere to federal, state, regulatory agencies, and CMS compliance standards.
- Community and Provider Outreach Leader: Drive brand awareness and increase member acquisition in targeted small group markets, acting as the Providence spokesperson to industry partners, employer groups, and Medicare members.
- Budget Manager: Oversee expenditures to ensure budget compliance and provide adequate in-service education to OC/HD staff members.
- Safety Advocate: Work in a safe manner, adhering to general safety precautions and standards, and report any unsafe conditions to supervisors.
What You'll Bring
- Educational Background: Bachelor's Degree in Healthcare Management, Business Administration, Marketing, Communications, or related field. Master's Degree preferred.
- Extensive Experience: 7 years of experience in Medicare Advantage and/or Individual Family plans, and 4 years of management or administrative experience in healthcare, preferably in an integrated health delivery network.
- Relationship Expertise: Proven experience building and maintaining trusted relationships with the broker community.
- Business Savvy: Expertise in overall business strategy and analysis, including marketing, quality, and financial analytics.
- Event Planning Skills: Experience in event planning and coordination (preferred).
- Communication Prowess: Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills (written, presentation, and verbal).
- Market Knowledge: Deep understanding of the California Medicare Market, including Brokers, MCOs, health plans, Medical Group, and IPA landscape.
- Regulatory Insight: Knowledge of healthcare insurance regulatory requirements, including CMS, Covered California, and DMCH.
- Product Proficiency: Knowledge of commercial and Medicare insurance products, sales, and distribution channels.
- Financial Acumen: Strong business and financial understanding, with the ability to design innovative strategies.
- Creative and Critical Thinking: Ability to develop programming to meet goals through creative and analytical thinking.
- Program Management: Excellent experience in strategic planning, metrics development, and monitoring processes.
- Complexity Navigation: Proven effectiveness in achieving objectives within a complex organization and managing geographically dispersed initiatives.
- Planning and Prioritization: Strong planning and prioritization skills, with the ability to drive and execute multiple concurrent programs/projects amidst ambiguity and organizational complexity.
- Analytical Proficiency: Ability to analyze data, recognize errors, and develop executive summaries from interpretive findings.
- Responsibility Acceptance: Willingness to take on new responsibilities.
- Driving Compliance: Ability to comply with state laws and requirements for driving as part of the role.
