Company Overview At Performance Drone Works (PDW), we're at the forefront of creating custom small unmanned aerial systems (sUAS) for the modern warfighter. PDW is proudly American owned, with all design, engineering, and manufacturing of our products taking place domestically. Role PDW is seeking a hands-on Embedded Technician to support the development, assembly, and testing of advanced electronic systems. This role is highly lab-focused and will involve soldering, electronics fabrication, and hardware bring-up. The ideal candidate has strong technical skills in PCB assembly and modification, with a keen eye for detail and precision in executing electronic builds. Responsibilities * Assemble, modify, and rework printed circuit boards (PCBs) and prototypes. * Perform fine-pitch soldering, wire harnessing, and electronics fabrication. * Support engineering teams with hardware bring-up, integration, and validation. * Operate lab equipment including oscilloscopes, multimeters, and power supplies. * Maintain lab inventory, tools, and consumables to support ongoing projects. * Assist in hardware debugging and root-cause analysis alongside engineers. * Perform system-level wiring, harness assembly, and connector terminations. * Document lab procedures, rework steps, and assembly notes for traceability. * Provide feedback to engineers on design-for-assembly and manufacturability improvements. * Support prototype builds and test fixtures for embedded hardware systems. Requirements * U.S. Citizenship. * Associate degree, technical diploma, or equivalent experience in electronics technology. * 3+ years of experience as a technician in electronics, hardware labs, or manufacturing. * Strong soldering skills, with precision rework on fine-pitch and high-density PCBs. * Familiarity with schematic diagrams, assembly drawings, and wiring harness documentation. * Proficiency with common lab and test equipment. * Understanding of ESD handling and safe lab practices. * Strong problem-solving skills with a methodical and detail-oriented approach. * Excellent organizational and time-management abilities. * Effective communication skills for documenting and reporting technical findings. * Ability to work independently while also supporting collaborative engineering efforts. * Flexibility to adapt to shifting project priorities in a fast-paced environment. * Previous experience in drone technologies is a plus.
