Pediatric Intensivist (MD/DO) - Per Diem

Description

UNC Health is seeking a board-certified or board-eligible Pediatric Intensivist to join our Pediatric Intensive Care team on a per diem basis. This role provides clinical coverage in a multidisciplinary PICU setting, caring for critically ill infants, children, and adolescents.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide high-quality, evidence-based care to pediatric patients in the PICU
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary care team, including nursing, respiratory therapy, and consulting services
  • Supervise and support trainees and advanced practice providers as applicable
  • Participate in handoffs, care coordination, and documentation in the electronic medical record
  • Adhere to institutional policies, clinical guidelines, and patient safety standards

Qualifications:

  • MD or DO degree
  • Fellowship Training in Pediatric Critical Care
  • Board certified or board eligible in Pediatric Critical Care Medicine
  • Eligibility for medical licensure in the practicing state
  • Current BLS and PALS certification (ACLS as required)
  • Strong clinical judgment, communication, and teamwork skills

Schedule & Coverage:

  • Per diem coverage based on departmental needs
  • Flexible scheduling, including nights, weekends, and holidays as required
