ABOUT THE ROLE

The Field Superintendent is responsible for overseeing all field operations related to precast concrete installation, ensuring projects are executed safely, on time, and within budget. This role manages jobsite coordination, including layout, sequencing, equipment, and personnel, while working closely with internal teams and general contractors. Reporting to the Field Operations Manager or Vice President of Construction Services, the Superintendent plays a critical role in driving project success from start to finish.

Salary range $67,700-$90,000 a year. Based on experience.

WHAT YOU'LL DO



  • Lead and supervise all field operations for precast installation projects
  • Provide direction and support to Field Foremen and field crews
  • Coordinate daily with dispatch for load sequencing and delivery schedules
  • Ensure proper layout, alignment, and elevations using survey equipment
  • Promote and enforce safety standards, company policies, and OSHA compliance
  • Collaborate with general contractors and other trades to maintain workflow
  • Plan and manage installation sequencing based on site conditions and production schedules
  • Source and coordinate equipment, materials, and resources to meet project timelines
  • Complete required documentation, including PCI paperwork and NCRs
  • Conduct field checks to ensure accuracy, access coordination, and quality standards

The ideal candidate is an experienced field leader with deep knowledge of precast construction and a strong commitment to safety, quality, and efficiency. They are highly organized, proactive, and confident in managing crews, coordinating with multiple stakeholders, and making real-time decisions on the jobsite. This individual leads by example, communicates effectively, and takes full ownership of project performance from planning through completion.

IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE



  • Minimum 5+ years of precast erection experience preferred (or 10+ years of general construction experience)
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field preferred
  • OSHA 30 certification required (or willingness to obtain)
  • Strong knowledge of precast systems, erection processes, and construction practices
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, crane charts, and plans
  • Experience with survey equipment and jobsite layout
  • Proven leadership and team management skills
  • Strong planning, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and general computer applications


WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS



  • Ability to perform physically demanding work, including lifting up to 75 lbs occasionally and frequent bending, climbing, kneeling, twisting, squatting, crawling, and repetitive hand/arm use
  • Capable of standing, walking, and moving throughout the facility for extended shifts of up to 12 hours
  • Comfortable working at heights using ladders, scaffolding, swing stages, and man lifts frequently
  • Ability to work safely in a production or field environment with moderate to high exposure to safety risks and hazards
  • Willingness to work in varying environmental conditions, including wet, hot, humid, and cold weather, and outdoors year-round
  • Ability to wear all required PPE, including but not limited to safety boots, safety glasses, hearing protection, high visibility vest, hard hat, and other PPE as required by the task, department, or work area.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES



  • Have an extensive knowledge of precast concrete components and the erection process of a precast project
  • Supervise the installation process on the job site
  • Provide leadership and direction to the field foreman and labor crew
  • Coordinate with dispatch daily for load times & sequence
  • Promote and enforce safety in every area of the work
  • Work closely with the field staff of the General Contractor to facilitate the work
  • Perform field checks for dimensional and access coordination
  • Ensure product is properly aligned vertical and horizontal with survey equipment
  • Oversee compliance with company policies, safety procedures, PCI requirements, and OSHA standards
  • Write and submit NCR's as necessary
  • Source necessary equipment and parts to comply with erection schedule
  • Assist Field Operations Manager with conducting early jobsite visits to coordinate start date, crane & truck access, and project concerns with client
  • Determine the proper installation sequence based on the site and precast production schedule to work efficiently
  • Complete PCI field audit paperwork and submit in a timely manner.
  • Follow the bracing procedures and job specific plan on every project.
  • Complete special projects as requested and perform other duties as assigned


EDUCATION, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED



  • Technical degrre or bachelor's degree in construction management, engineering, or related field.
  • OSHA 30 Hour training required (will be provided)
  • Must have interpersonal communication skills to interact with co-workers, supervisors, managers, and customers
  • Familiarity with OSHA regulations
  • Ability to read and understand architectural, structural, and precast construction drawings necessary
  • Proven ability to plan field projects and direct employees
  • Ability to read and understand crane charts
  • Knowledge of survey equipment
  • Must be motivated and self-driven to complete a task
  • Ability to build erection sequence of precast members
  • Ability to properly size and locate a crane for most efficient erection of precast
  • Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Working knowledge of computers, Microsoft Office suite required
