This driver will be responsible for driving a 15-passenger van, when is not operating the shuttle, should be assisting with overall facility maintenance/Tidiness.
  • Transporting passengers safely and efficiently, ensuring they are seated and secured properly.
  • Perform routine checks on the vehicle, including tire pressure, brake function and overall condition.
  • Conduct daily safety inspections of the van including checking the interior, exterior, brakes and lights.
  • Passenger care, ensuring the are seated and secured.
  • Keep accurate records of mileage, fuel consumption, and any incidents that may occur on the road.
  • Communicate with passengers and other drivers to ensure a smooth and safe journey.
  • Utilize a variety of hand and power tools safely and effectively.
  • Use personal protective equipment (PPE) to ensure safety during tasks.

  • Handle and dispose of hazardous materials safely.

  • Communicate effectively with team members to coordinate activities.

  • Provide professional customer service to address maintenance concerns.

  • Keep all work stations, warehouse and other areas around M.C. Dean in a clean and professional manner.
  • High School Diploma / GED with 1+ years of experience.
  • Clean driving record.
  • Knowledge of surrounding area roads and highways.
  • Must successfully pass a background check.
  • Must have ability & CMV certification to operate a motor vehicle that has a gross vehicle weight, gross vehicle weight rating, gross combination weight, or gross combination weight rating of 10,001 pounds or more.
  • Must successfully complete a DOT physical.
  • Must be a well-organized person in order to maintain warehouse and material in a clean and organized manner.
  • Good physical stamina and manual dexterity to perform repairs and maintenance tasks.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow safety protocols
  • Effective communication skills and the ability to work well independently or as a part of a team

Abilities:

  • The position requires the ability to lift, carry, and move objects weighing up to [50 pounds] on a regular basis. Candidates must demonstrate physical strength and stamina to perform various tasks, including but not limited to, loading, and unloading, operating equipment, and assisting in the transportation of various materials. Proper lifting techniques and safety protocols must be followed to ensure personal and team safety.
  • Relocates a 12 foot stepladder without assistance.
  • Works at various heights up to 60 feet and can climb and maintain balance on scaffolds, aerial lifts, catwalks and all types of ladders.
  • Walks, climbs, lifts, squats, crawls, kneels, pushes, pulls and reaches overhead on a routine and repetitive basis.
  • Possess good vision (may be corrected vision), the ability to see in color, and the ability to hear and communicate in English.
  • May use a standard ladder without exceeding the weight limit while carrying tools.
  • Tell when something is wrong or is likely to go wrong. It does not involve solving the problem, only recognizing there is a problem.
  • Apply general rules to specific problems to produce answers that make sense.
  • Combine pieces of information to form general rules or conclusions (including finding a relationship among seemingly unrelated events).
  • See details at close range (within a few feet of the observer).
