Description: Position Summary The Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) - Certified Nurse Midwife provides comprehensive health care for women from puberty through menopause in medical areas including prenatal, labor and delivery care, health care assessment, diagnosis and management for preventive health, normal gynecologic care, and minor medical problems as determined by scope of practice guidelines. Implement, interpret and manage laboratory, radiology or other diagnostic screenings and prescribe therapeutic agents, medications and devices. Educate patients on health status improvement and prevention techniques. Direct and manage members of the health care team in campus and off-campus clinical sites. Supervise and teach graduate students and resident physicians in clinical settings, lectures and skills assessment labs. Initiate or participate in research.
