General Purpose: Under general supervision, perform a variety of business support activities for the location being supported, typically of an administrative nature. Duties may include preparing, editing, or distributing correspondence; tracking, filing, collecting, summarizing, or organizing information; performing data entry and processing of information; running or producing reports; assisting with basic accounting or bookkeeping activities; assisting with records retention; and completing special projects. Respond to the needs of internal and/or external customer requests or questions. May provide backup support to other administrative positions. Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assist department and/or office staff, performing any combination of clerical duties including answering phones, filing, sorting, receiving, classifying, reconciling and summarizing documents and information; welcome or direct visitors
- Serve as a contact for customers. Review customer requests for service and take action to serve their needs in a manner that meets or exceeds their expectations in a cordial and efficient manner
- Assist or perform basic accounting or bookkeeping activities including processing POS transactions
- Track, file, collect, summarize, or organize information
- Maintain various records, spreadsheets, logs, etc.
- Compile and generate regular and special reports using established formats and procedures
- Use software applications including LIMS and SAP and other standard office equipment to complete work activities
- Maintain close liaison with laboratory leadership team and technicians. Keep current on analytical processes to facilitate smooth working relationships between customer and laboratory staff
- Respond to requests on the supply order line and maintain sample label printing database.
- Serve as a backup on Environmental Protection Agency entries and notify customers of results

Education and Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent
- One to three years' office, administrative, or related experience

- Strong knowledge and skill with Microsoft Office Suite and company computer systems
