Low Voltage Cable Technician - Manhattan, NYC Steady Work \| Commercial Projects \| 6-Month Contracts If you can pull cable, terminate it clean, and test it right - TEKsystems wants to talk to you. We place experienced Low Voltage Cable Technicians on commercial projects throughout Manhattan on a consistent basis. When one contract wraps up, we work to keep you moving to the next one. This is the kind of steady, reliable work that keeps you busy and your skills sharp. OSHA 30 and SST card are both required. If you've got them and you know your way around CAT5/CAT6, keep reading. What You'll Be Doing * Pulling, routing, terminating, and labeling CAT5/CAT6 network cabling on commercial job sites * Terminating patch panels, jacks, and RJ45 connectors * Testing and certifying installed cables to industry standards * Installing cable support structures - racks, J-hooks, innerduct, ladder racks, and related pathways * Reading and working from cabling layouts and floor plans * Keeping job sites clean, organized, and safe What You Need * 1-3+ years of structured cabling or low voltage installation experience * Solid hands-on experience with CAT5/CAT6 - pulling, terminating, and testing * Experience working commercial jobs - offices, data centers, construction sites * Able to lift up to 50 lbs and work on ladders and scissor lifts * Reliable transportation to Manhattan job sites * OSHA 30 and SST card - both required, no exceptions Good to Have * Experience with fiber, security, access control, or CCTV * Familiarity with Fluke or similar cable certification tools Why Work With TEKsystems * Consistent work - when one project ends, we're already looking for your next one * Commercial projects across Manhattan - real work on real job sites * 6-month contracts with strong potential to keep going * A recruiter who actually picks up the phone and keeps you in the loop Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of New York, NY. Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $20.00 - $30.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
