Title: Department Manager Location: El Paso, TX or Montgomery, AL Duration: 2+ Years Full Time: Yes Start Date: April 2026 *Compensation* Total Comp: $200k+ Base Salary: $120-140K Quarterly Bonus Potential Car Allowance Cell Phone Allowance *Top Skills Details* 1)10+ years managing complex low voltage/Construction or Commercial projects/Businesses. Managing construction sites with multiple buildings is a plus. 2)Experience managing scopes of work that may include telecom, structured cable, audio-visual, security, estimating, or BIM. 3)Experience managing all aspects of a low voltage project; budget, timelines, hiring, scheduling, profit margins, etc. *Job Description* This person will be managing IES's portion of a very large data center campus in El Paso, TX that will last a minimum of two years. The Department Manager roles are responsible for supervising and directing the work activities of their respective team. All aspects of the assigned department must be carried out as efficiently as possible with respect to staffing, materials management, financial management, customer care and customer delivery goals. *Job Duties and Responsibilities:* 1. The Department Manager will recruit, hire, train, manage, supervise, promote, discipline and discharge, if necessary, all department staff. Effectively manage all human resource issues (and escalate as needed) per Company policies and procedures. Complete recommendations for employees' performance ratings, promotions and pay changes. 2. Provide guidance and mentoring to meet all department goals and objectives. 3. Manage the workload distribution of department staff. 4. Plan for, manage, monitor and maintain project profitability to achieve Company goals. 5. Managing scopes of work that may include structured cable, audio-visual, security, life safety, estimating, or BIM. 6. Participating in and/or facilitating the bid process. 7. Manage all related quality and safety issues on customer work. 8. Act as the Company liaison for interface with customer representative(s). 9. Create, develop and implement account process improvement(s). 10. Other responsibilities as assigned. *Physical and Mental Requirements:* * Must be self-motivated, positive in approach, professional and lead others to create, develop and implement project process improvement(s). * Must promote the Company culture and mission to all employees, vendors, clients and business partners. * Must possess proven problem-solving skills, critical thinking skills and the ability to effectively read, write and give oral presentation(s). * Must have proven high skill level to interpret blueprints and other project documents, including but not limited to, specifications, reporting and quality requirements. * Must able to travel within branch territory and/or regional territory as needed. * Must possess the ability to learn Company and customer project management systems. * Must be able to successfully secure and maintain a Company sponsored American Express Card. Education, Certification, License, and Skill Requirements: * Must possess at least a High School diploma or GED equivalency; Bachelor's Degree preferred. * Must have experience in customer interface, such as liaison between the customer and the Company. * Must possess a minimum of seven (7) years supervisory or managerial experience. * Must have a minimum of five (5) years of experience in telecommunications or a related technical or construction field. * Must be proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and MS Project). * Must meet Company minimum driving standards. * Must be able to manage multiple tasks/projects simultaneously. * Must be able to supervise multiple direct reports - exempt and non-exempt. * Must have demonstrated verifiable ability to define a project, create a project scope of work, develop detailed associated tasks and manage these to final completion and customer turnover. *Additional Skills & Qualifications* Customer needs someone who can: Build the team Build the culture at the site Manage the business as a whole: P&L, hiring, etc Build customer relationships Build the team relationship and dynamic Hold others accountable: oPMs - to run the project and manage the technical aspects oPeers - holding peers accountable to completing their portion of the scope oLeaders - asking for the support needed to grow and develop the site Overall - run the business, handle the site as their own business *Job Type & Location* This is a Permanent position based out of El Paso, TX. *Pay and Benefits*The pay range for this position is $200000.00 - $240000.00/yr.
