JOB TITLE: Field Cost Accountant
REPORTS TO: Project Manager / Site Project Manager

POSITION SUMMARY:
Reports to the Site Project Manager / Supervisor and performs field cost accounting and project support duties to help ensure contractual requirements are fully documented and met. This position supports project operations in the Chattanooga, TN area and may require travel to nearby project sites based on business needs.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES/FUNCTIONS OF POSITION:
  • Enter and track project crew timekeeping data from sign-in sheets, daily logs, and timesheets.
  • Scan, file, and maintain timekeeping, cost, and project documentation in an organized and timely manner.
  • Process vendor invoices, including coding, routing for signature, scanning, filing, and sending for system entry.
  • Track and process employee and project-related expenses, including receipts, mileage, and per diem documentation.
  • Complete and maintain EPA Form 1900-55 / RCMS entries for labor, equipment, invoices, receipts, mileage, and per diem, as applicable.
  • Prepare, print, and route daily cost reports for project management review and signature.
  • Submit daily cost documentation to client representatives, including EPA project contacts, as required, and upload records to SharePoint or other designated systems.
  • Review AP reports, assist with cash requirement reporting, and support billing and unbilled cost review processes.
  • Maintain organized project files for delivery tickets, invoices, entry/exit logs, receipts, and other supporting cost documentation with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Support procurement and subcontract administration, including obtaining quotes/bids, initiating purchase orders, subcontract agreements, change orders, and coordinating site support needs and project supply requests, as needed.
  • Prepare routine monthly project cost and burn reporting, including total spend, days worked, daily burn, and projections.
  • Communicate with project personnel and support routine coordination through Microsoft Teams, email, and other company systems.
  • Perform a variety of administrative and project support tasks, including typing, filing, scanning, duplicating, and answering phones.
  • Ensure that proper safety and incident reporting procedures are followed.
  • Report issues or concerns to the Project Manager, Response Manager, Foreman, Safety Director, or HR Manager.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:
  • Minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Minimum of two (2) years of administrative support experience is required.
  • Any combination of education and experience that demonstrates the knowledge and ability to perform the essential functions of the position may be considered.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with clients, managers, crew members, and corporate support staff.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Microsoft Teams, and SharePoint.
  • Previous accounting experience preferred.
  • Strong mathematical, analytical, and organizational skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate records.
  • Experience with job cost tracking, daily cost reporting, project cost documentation, invoices, receipts, expense tracking, or AP support preferred.
  • Familiarity with RCMS, EPA Form 1900-55, Dynamics, SharePoint, or similar project/accounting systems preferred.
  • Experience supporting field projects, construction, environmental, or government/EPA projects preferred.
  • Ability to manage high-volume documentation with accuracy and deadlines.
  • Ability to work independently and manage daily responsibilities according to the work schedule.
  • Ability to maintain dependable and consistent attendance.
WORK ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
  • Regularly works near moving mechanical parts and in outside conditions that include inclement weather, heat, humidity, and exposure to dust, asphalt, and hazardous materials.
  • Noise levels may be loud at times.
  • Must be able to understand and follow KEMRON SOPs for assigned tasks.
  • Prolonged periods, generally up to 2 hours at a time, sitting at a desk and working on a computer to perform job duties.
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position, often standing or sitting for up to one hour at a time to accomplish job duties.
  • Must have the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously in an efficient manner.
  • Must be able to assess the accuracy, neatness, and thoroughness of assigned tasks.
  • Ability to work after normal business hours and on weekends on an emergency or pre-arranged basis is required.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:
  • Must possess a valid and appropriate state driver's license prior to employment and have a good driving history approved by KEMRON's insurance carrier that qualifies the employee to drive company vehicles.
  • Must understand and sign off on corporate and worksite Health and Safety Plan(s).
  • Must be willing to work from a local jobsite office trailer as needed.
