As part of Mercy Hospital St. Louis, the clinic is guided by Mercy's mission and values, providing quality medical and behavioral health care with compassion, dignity, and respect to patients of all ages. Position Details: Key Responsibilities Provide appropriate psychosocial support and therapy services to adults, children, and adolescents. Interpret patient perceptions of diagnoses and treatment through verbal and nonverbal communication. Develop individualized treatment plans based on patient development, temperament, coping style, medical care plan, and available social supports. Use developmentally appropriate methods to prepare patients and families for diagnostic and treatment procedures. Provide emotional support and teach coping skills during identified stress points. Utilize stress-reduction and relaxation techniques to support adaptive coping and self-expression. Plan and facilitate individual and family therapy sessions based on patient and clinic needs. Collaborate with interdisciplinary care teams to ensure holistic patient care. Perform all duties in accordance with Mercy's Mission, Values, and Service Standards. Minimum Qualifications Education Master's degree in Psychology, Counseling, Social Work, or a related human services field Licensure PLPC (Provisional Licensed Professional Counselor) Experience Minimum of one (1) year experience in a behavioral health-related field Certification SAFE certified Required Skills & Knowledge Strong background in behavioral disorders, bereavement, and health-related psychosocial issues Excellent verbal and nonverbal communication skills Ability to establish rapport quickly with patients and families Strong clinical judgment, empathy, and professionalism Ability to work effectively with diverse populations Physical Requirements Ability to push, pull, and/or lift up to 50 lbs on a regular basis Ability to stand and walk for extended periods during each shift Ability to grip, reach, bend, kneel, twist, and squat to perform job duties Why Join Mercy?
