JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS

Penn State's Applied Research Laboratory (ARL) program is seeking enterprising students to participate in a Summer 2026 undergraduate internship in the Fluid Dynamics and Acoustics Office. Students will conduct research to enhance their readiness for successful and impactful careers in national security.

Typical duties may include:

  • Support engineering testing, data analysis, and data visualization
  • Perform hands-on work in a laboratory environment
  • Use multiple computing languages, analysis tools, simulations, and measurement systems

You must be a U.S. citizen to apply. Employment with the Applied Research Laboratory requires successful completion of a pre-employment drug screen.

Your primary work location will be fully on-site in State College, PA.

ARL's purpose is to conduct research and develop innovative solutions to challenging scientific, engineering, and technology problems in support of the Navy, the Department of Defense (DoD), and the Intelligence Community (IC).
