The Office of Counsel is seeking a Legal Coordinator to support multiple attorneys in a fastpaced, collaborative environment. In this role, you'll be a key partner in coordinating legal matters, managing complex schedules, and ensuring that daytoday operations run smoothly and efficiently.

You'll work closely with attorneys, internal partners across Duke, and external counsel-handling confidential information with discretion and professionalism. Minimum Requirements



  • Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Four years of administrative or related professional experience
  • Strong proficiency with Microsoft applications (PowerPoint and Copilot a plus)




Preferred Qualifications



  • Experience supporting attorneys or working in a legal or inhouse law office environment
  • Experience with matter and document management systems, ebilling tools, and travel/expense systems
  • Demonstrated ability to manage highvolume work with accuracy and attention to detail

Work Location: Durham, NC
This role is primarily onsite, with limited remote flexibility as approved by the supervisor (current inoffice schedule is Monday-Thursday).

Position Description (Essential Duties)



  • Provide comprehensive administrative support to multiple attorneys, including managing complex calendars and coordinating meetings across departments and with external parties
  • Open, maintain, and track electronic legal files while ensuring accuracy and confidentiality
  • Assist with ebilling and coordinate with outside counsel as needed
  • Prepare, format, and proofread legal documents, correspondence, and presentations with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Coordinate attorney travel, expense reports, and reimbursement documentation in compliance with university policies
  • Track and maintain continuing legal education (CLE) records and deadlines
  • Provide general office and administrative support and assist with special projects as assigned

Anticipated Pay Range: Duke University provides an annual base salary range for this position as USD $48,960.00 to USD $77,928.00. Duke University considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position; candidate's work experience, education/training, and key skills; internal peer equity; as well as market and organizational considerations when extending an offer.
