The Heavy Equipment Operator is responsible for the safe operation, inspection, maintenance, and repair of a wide range of heavy equipment and vehicles. This role requires extensive hands-on experience diagnosing mechanical issues, performing preventative maintenance, and ensuring equipment operates efficiently, safely, and in compliance with company and regulatory standards. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Operate a variety of heavy equipment and vehicles in a safe and efficient manner. Inspect and maintain vehicles and heavy equipment to ensure proper working condition. Perform routine preventative maintenance. Maintain accurate records of inspections, repairs, and maintenance activities. Ensure all equipment is operated and maintained in accordance with safety regulations and company policies. Communicate identified issues and repair needs to supervisors or management. Maintain cleanliness and organization of tools, work areas, and equipment. Assist with additional equipment-related duties as assigned. Willing and able to rig when needed. Equipment includes, but is not limited to: Carry deck cranes Cherry pickers (all tonnage) Truck cranes up to 300 tons Dozers Track hoes Rubber tire hoes Forklifts Tractors Scooters and other company vehicles Qualifications and Experience Minimum of 5 years of experience. Must have current NCCCO or NCCER operating cranes. Proven ability to inspect and properly diagnose equipment failures of all types. Knowledge of basic safety standards and equipment operation procedures. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Physical ability to perform job duties, including lifting, climbing, bending, and working in various environmental conditions.
