The Heavy Equipment Operator is responsible for the safe operation, inspection, maintenance, and repair of a wide range of heavy equipment and vehicles. This role requires extensive hands-on experience diagnosing mechanical issues, performing preventative maintenance, and ensuring equipment operates efficiently, safely, and in compliance with company and regulatory standards. Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Operate a variety of heavy equipment and vehicles in a safe and efficient manner.
  • Inspect and maintain vehicles and heavy equipment to ensure proper working condition.
  • Perform routine preventative maintenance.
  • Maintain accurate records of inspections, repairs, and maintenance activities.
  • Ensure all equipment is operated and maintained in accordance with safety regulations and company policies.
  • Communicate identified issues and repair needs to supervisors or management.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of tools, work areas, and equipment.
  • Assist with additional equipment-related duties as assigned.
  • Willing and able to rig when needed.
Equipment includes, but is not limited to:
  • Carry deck cranes
  • Cherry pickers (all tonnage)
  • Truck cranes up to 300 tons
  • Dozers
  • Track hoes
  • Rubber tire hoes
  • Forklifts
  • Tractors
  • Scooters and other company vehicles
Qualifications and Experience
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience.
  • Must have current NCCCO or NCCER operating cranes.
  • Proven ability to inspect and properly diagnose equipment failures of all types.
  • Knowledge of basic safety standards and equipment operation procedures.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Physical ability to perform job duties, including lifting, climbing, bending, and working in various environmental conditions.
