SUMMARY The HRBP II supports day-to-day HR operations for the Lake Charles site by administering core HR processes, maintaining employee data and records, and ensuring timely, accurate execution of workforce transactions while providing employee and supervisor support across HR functional areas. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES May include, but are not limited to, the following: * Demonstrates strong safety culture through personal behavior and commitment to environmental, health & safety. * Provides front-line HR support to employees and supervisors; responds to inquiries and routes escalations to the HRBP Manager and HR COEs, as appropriate. * Coordinates and supports the annual HR cycle of activities for the site, including performance and compensation cycles, wage and benefits reviews, and talent review administration; tracks deadlines, prepares materials, and supports data submissions; assists with and/or leads select initiatives as requested across PEM sites. * Administers and applies company policies and standard HR procedures; ensures required forms and documentation are completed and retained. * Coordinates and conducts workplace investigations, as needed. * Supports onboarding and new-hire administration, including preparing and processing new-hire paperwork, coordinating start-date logistics, and ensuring timely entry of employee data in Workday/HRIS. * Processes employee terminations in the HRIS/Workday; coordinates required notifications and access/benefit-related offboarding steps per Offboarding Paperwork; conducts and documents exit interviews, as assigned; completes offboarding paperwork and uploads required documentation. * Tracks and maintains workforce metrics for the site. * Prepares and delivers requested data for Quarterly Business Reviews, annual budgeting, and workforce planning processes. * Tracks and reports, as appropriate, overtime, absenteeism, open positions, and other workforce metrics. * Manages Workday transactions and data entries. * Tracks, reports, and maintains personnel requisitions, job postings, hires, terminations, and leaves of absence; maintains applicant records in the Hiring Portal, including candidates interviewed and hired. * Maintains employee personnel files and HR records (electronic and/or paper) in accordance with record retention requirements; ensures documentation is complete, accurate, and audit ready. * Serves as the site HRIS/Workday point of contact (super user); troubleshoots routine issues, supports users, and helps ensure data accuracy and timely processing. EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS * Bachelor's degree in human resources or a related field. * PHR and/or SHRM-CP certification preferred. * Minimum of 5 years of HR experience, including recruiting experience, labor and employee relations experience. * Demonstrated ability to administer HR programs and processes with accuracy, discretion, and strong follow-through. * Demonstrated knowledge of federal and state employment laws. * Excellent communication and organizational skills; detail oriented. * Able to partner effectively with employees and leaders at all levels within Westlake, in a team-oriented environment. * Proficient in MS Office; Workday experience preferred; ability to learn new databases and applications. * Successful candidates must satisfy background screening, including motor vehicle record screening, drug testing & pre-employment physical requirements before starting work. *A current, valid Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC) card is required. PHYSICAL DEMANDS While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit, stand, walk, use hands to touch/handle/feel, reach with hands and arms, and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to stoop, kneel, or crouch. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, and infrequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. Significant digital dexterity (e.g., using a computer keyboard) is required. Oral communication is required to perform work. WORK ENVIRONMENT The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate and is typically office-based. Some work may be performed in operating units and may require required PPE (including safety glasses, hearing protection, etc.).
