What to Expect
Tesla is seeking a highly motivated Technical Program Manager to join Powertrain Manufacturing Controls Engineering team to specify, program and commission new equipment to manufacture drivetrains, battery packs and power electronics for our vehicles, energy products, and Optimus robot. This controls team supports projects by several manufacturing teams: Optimus, Battery Module/Pack, Drive Unit, Power Electronics and Energy. This position is based at Gigafactory Texas in Austin. The ideal candidate brings previous experience programming logic controllers (PLC), human machine interfaces (HMI), industrial robotics and other industrial manufacturing equipment to a project execution level. The role requires high organization and a controls-oriented, know-how-it's-done mindset to anticipate and plan adequate controls engineer resourcing across projects, locations, timelines and priorities. You will collaborate with world-class manufacturing engineering, production, facilities and quality teams to ensure projects timelines and execution serve the interests of controls engineers and their role in bringing new equipment to life. You will work with manufacturing and controls teams at our factories in Austin, Brookshire, Buffalo, Fremont and Reno to triage project needs and dependencies, and spur necessary initiatives and decisions ahead of potential roadblocks before they impact engineers or the program.
