Position Summary

Bring our games to life by creating music and sound effects, as well as voice and instrument recordings for slot machines. Work in a collaborative small team environment with a group of exceptionally talented artists, animators, software engineers, and game designers to provide the best gaming experience for the slot player. The ability to work quickly and efficiently as part of a team, take direction, and maintain a positive attitude under pressure is crucial.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Compose, produce, and mix music for land-based slot games in the style or genre selected for the game.

  • Create custom sound effects using digital audio workstations and SFX libraries.

  • Record and edit Foley sound effects, voiceovers, or instruments as needed.

  • Critically listen and self-monitor to ensure that sounds meet quality standards on all target output devices.

  • Balance final game sounds on cabinet for field use.

  • Implement game audio assets using proprietary and/or third-party audio middleware (FMOD).

  • Communicate with the game designer and development team in an iterative development process.

  • Maintain well-organized working files to facilitate file sharing and collaborative work.

  • Archive all final working files for future use using version control software.

The targeted pay range for this role is $60,000- $80,000. The total compensation package for this position may also include applicable incentive compensation, such as an annual performance bonus. Actual compensation packages are based on several factors that are unique to each candidate, including but not limited to skill set, depth of experience, specific work geography, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data.

Qualifications

Training and/or Experience:

  • BA/BS in Music or Audio engineering or related field (In lieu of degree, 4 years of professional experience in MIDI sequencing and digital audio, recording/editing using a commercially available Digital Audio Workstation).

  • Minimum of 2 years of relevant work experience in music and/or audio production.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Experience recording and editing voiceovers and creating sound effects.

  • Ability to compose, arrange, and mix music in a wide variety of styles and genres

  • Must be proficient in Pro Tools, Logic Pro or comparable DAW with knowledge of advanced techniques and workflow efficiency.

  • Must have strong skills in creating and editing sound effects using sound libraries, software synths, and creative processing techniques to craft high-quality, engaging game audio.

  • Confident Mixing & Production: Understanding of EQ, compression, reverb, delay, and spatial audio techniques.

  • Must have a good understanding of audio interfaces, signal flow, and troubleshooting techniques to ensure smooth studio operations and high-quality recordings.

  • Ability to work well with others in a team environment

  • Ability to take direction and provide multiple music/sound effect options in return.

  • Ability to adapt to new technologie

  • Ability to identify errors and troubleshoot.

  • Ability to interact and collaborate with the immediate sound team, as well as junior and senior colleagues.

  • Ability to play an instrument as well as read and write music is a plus.

  • Ability to work comfortably in both Macintosh and Windows environments a plus.

  • Familiarity with FMOD Studio or other interactive audio middleware is a plus.

  • Experience with any coding language is a plus.

Additional Information:

This is a hybrid role based in our Chicago studio. Team members are expected to be in the office 3 days a week to support collaboration and studio culture.
