Job Summary

The J ourneyman electrician installs, maintains, troubleshoots, and repairs electrical systems in commercial and industrial settings, following electrical codes and safety regulations. They read blueprints, run wiring, connect equipment, and test systems to ensure proper operation.

Essential Duties

  • Perform preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance on industrial electrical systems and equipment.
  • Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair electrical problems involving motors, motor controls, VFDs, pumps, breakers, relays, transformers, panels, lighting, and power distribution systems.
  • Install, maintain, and repair conduit, wiring, control panels, disconnects, and related plant electrical infrastructure.
  • Inspect, test, and service electrical equipment to ensure safe and efficient operation.
  • Work with control systems, instrumentation, and PLC-connected equipment to identify and resolve electrical issues.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, one-lines, schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals.
  • Support plant shutdowns, emergency repairs, and operational needs as required.
  • Ensure all work is completed in compliance with applicable electrical codes, plant standards, and safety regulations.
  • Coordinate with operations and maintenance personnel to identify issues, prioritize work, and reduce equipment downtime.
  • Document maintenance activities, repairs, and equipment conditions accurately.

Minimum Requirements

High School Diploma or GED.

Journeyman License
Technical degree in related field is preferred.

Minimum of 5-7 years of relevant experience.
Ability to prioritize tasks, work effectively under stress, and meet short deadlines.
Demonstrates a professional demeanor, positive attitude, and strong work ethic.
Good communication skills (oral and written).
Must be punctual and dependable.
Must have basic computer skills.
