Description

Helix Electric is seeking experienced Residential Electricians with strong hands-on experience in residential wiring and working in a production / piecework pay environment. Qualified individuals must have a CA Journeyman Electrician Card OR Electrician Trainee Card. (This is NOT an entry-level role.)

DETAILED JOB DESCRIPTION:

DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES & SCOPE:




  • Strong residential wiring experience required (This is NOT an entry-level role.)



  • Skilled in working with Romex and MC cable


  • Multi-family, multi-unit or large residential track home experience required
  • Strong understanding of residential electrical codes and installation standards

  • Able to rough-in, trim, and complete residential electrical installations efficiently


  • Ability to read plans and follow layout instructions

  • Experience working on a production pay basis



  • Able to maintain quality while working in a fast-paced environment


  • Assist with assembly, installation, maintenance and testing of electrical equipment and wiring systems in commercial and residential settings
  • Prepares work area for installation of equipment.
  • Installs or assists with installation of electrical components.
  • Connects wiring and equipment as per code and job specification.
  • Operates equipment only if trained and certified to operate. (Note: Powder activated tools, and JLG lifts and other operations that may require certification and training before operating).
  • Sets up and operates tools such as hydraulic benders, power threaders, power pullers and cable vacuum systems.
  • Learning or be able to read blueprints and electrical drawings and install as specified.
  • Verify dimensions, alignments and clearances per drawings or plans.
  • Secure and lock up equipment after use.
  • A proven track record of delivering safe projects on schedule and within budget.
  • Excellent working knowledge of the Building Codes.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Assist with complex electrical installations in a fast-paced and fast-production environment.
  • Be proficient in type NM (Romex) and/or MC wiring methods is a plus.
  • Work from all type ladders (step ladders up to 14', "A" frame ladders and all size extension ladders and carry and relocate up to 12' step ladder by oneself.
  • Employee's personal weight and personal tools cannot exceed weight limit of ladder (Class 1-250 lbs., Class 1A-300 lbs.).


PHYSICAL DEMANDS & REQUIREMENTS:




  • MUST have a CA Journeyman Electrician Card OR Electrician Trainee Card (This is NOT an entry-level role.)


  • Dependable, safety-conscious, and ready to work
  • Job requires working in all elements, depending on job location, time of year, heat, cold, rain, snow.
  • Wear personal protective equipment (hard hat, safety glasses, and gloves always), respirator when required.
  • Able to work 8-10 hours per day, 40 hours per week, overtime, and night shifts as required.
  • Must be able to perform the essential functions of the job, including crawling, standing, stooping, bending, crouching, kneeling, sitting, reaching, able to routinely lift heavy objects in excess of 50 pounds and pushing and pulling of objects is required.
  • Repetitive use of arms, hands, and fingers.
  • Physical work is a primary part (more than 70%) of the job.


HELIX OFFERS:

The starting hourly base pay for this role is between USD $65,000 - $120,000 per year. (This is NOT an entry-level role.) The actual base is dependent upon many factors, such as: location, training, transferable skills, work experience, business needs, and market demands.
