EntryLevel Cable Technician Work Type: Onsite Employment Type: Contract (4 months, potential extension) Start Date: Targeting April 30, 2026 Schedule: Fulltime, Monday-Friday Overtime: Paid at 1.5x Travel: Up to a 100mile radius (mileage paid for travel over 40 miles) Pay Range: $15-$22/hour, based on experience About the Role Our Client is seeking entrylevel Cable Technicians to support installation, repair, and preventative maintenance of communications and electrical equipment at central offices, data centers, and customer sites. This is a great opportunity for candidates looking to start or grow a career in telecommunications, cabling, or lowvoltage work with handson training and real field experience. What You'll Be Doing * Travel to customer sites to install, repair, and maintain cable and electrical equipment * Perform cable pulling, termination, punchdown, and basic installations * Replace defective parts and assist with repairing batteries and related equipment * Install new equipment according to specifications to ensure full functionality * Provide onsite technical support and basic troubleshooting * Maintain accurate documentation, including service reports and maintenance logs * Operate materialhandling equipment in compliance with OSHA standards * Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment * Communicate professionally with customers and internal teams * Participate in required compliance and jobspecific training * Safely manage company assets such as tools, test equipment, and service vehicles * Work independently with minimal supervision once trained Required Skills & Qualifications * Basic mechanical aptitude * Experience using hand and power tools * Ability to read, write, and understand work documents in English * Ability to perform basic math (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division; fractions and decimals) * Ability to solve simple equations * Experience or exposure in an electricalrelated field * High School Diploma or GED NicetoHave Skills (Not Required) * Structured cabling * Cable technician or telecom experience * Lowvoltage systems * Rack and stack * Coax and wire cabling Additional Qualifications * Basic understanding of electrical systems * Ability to use test equipment and read schematics * Handson technical or field experience * Certificate or diploma in Electrical, Mechanical, or Electronic fields (preferred, not required) Physical & General Requirements * Willingness to travel overnight and be oncall as needed * Ability and willingness to operate a forklift * Comfortable working in plant, warehouse, and data center environments * Ability to lift up to 50 lbs regularly * Ability to stand for long periods and perform bending, stooping, kneeling, and reaching * Ability to differentiate colors * Must wear PPE at all times * Must pass: * Drug screen * BGC * Driving record check Benefits (Eligibility Based) * Medical, dental, and vision coverage * 401(k) retirement plan (pretax and Roth options) * Life insurance and AD&D * Short and longterm disability * Health Savings Account (HSA) * Transportation benefits * Employee Assistance Program * Paid time off and leave options Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract position based out of East Syracuse, NY.
