Job Summary:

The Manager, Publications - Neurology is responsible for developing and executing strategic publication plans and producing highquality scientific publications for the Supernus neurology portfolio. This is a handson role that combines strong project management with the ability to write, edit, and develop visuals as needed. The Publications Manager collaborates closely with internal teams, external authors, and contract support to ensure timely, compliant, and scientifically accurate deliverables aligned with Good Publication Practices (GPP) and Supernus standards.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:



  • Develop, maintain, and execute publication plans for assigned products under the direction of the Associate Director of Publications.
  • Produce or support the development of publication materials-including abstracts, posters, slide presentations, manuscripts, and visual/graphic elements-ensuring clarity, scientific accuracy, and alignment with core data and messages.
  • Coordinate and manage publication projects, including content development, author collaboration, internal/external review, revisions, approvals, submissions, and responses to journal or congress queries.
  • Serve as the primary daytoday contact for internal and external authors, providing guidance on timelines, expectations, and publication requirements.
  • Maintain detailed project timelines and ensure all deliverables meet agreed schedules, quality expectations, and policy requirements.
  • Ensure all materials undergo required quality control and are routed through appropriate review and approval processes.
  • Manage archiving of final, approved materials, documentation of author contributions, approvals, and other audit records.
  • Ensure compliance with Good Publication Practices (GPP), journal and Congress guidelines and Supernus Internal policies, partnering with authors, contributors, and vendors to uphold accuracy, balance, and transparency.
  • Oversee the work of external contractors and vendors involved in writing, editing, graphic development or project coordination to ensure deliverables meet predefined timeline, cost and quality expectations.
  • Assist in maintaining publication contracts and budgets.
  • Stay current on emerging publication trends, tools and GPP updates, and support the Associate Director and Medical Affairs Publications Team in maintaining SOPs and providing guidance to or training collaborators.
  • Maintain therapeutic area familiarity to support high-quality scientific and editorial review and contribute to cross-functional discussions.

Knowledge & Other Qualifications:



  • PhD or clinical doctorate (PharmD, MD, APP) with at least 1+ years relevant experience. (Will consider MS with similar experience and demonstrated strong research knowledge); pharmaceutical industry experience preferred.
  • Training and experience in CNS disorders, psychopharmacology and/or neuropharmacology strongly preferred. Experience in movement disorders or epilepsy highly preferable.
  • Knowledge of current publication and authorship guidelines and their practical implementation (GPP3, ICMJE, CONSORT, etc.)
  • Certified Medical Publication Professional (CMPP) credential preferred.
  • Experience leading and working with teams of co-authors.
  • Experience developing, writing, and submitting manuscripts for publication in peer-reviewed medical journals and abstracts to medical congresses.
  • Ability to understand and communicate data from a variety of scientific disciplines.
  • Strong and continual focus on scientific integrity and ethics and comfortable escalating and challenging digressions from company policy or values when necessary.
  • Strong knowledge of clinical databases, clinical data interpretation, and application of HIPPA and GxP as it relates to ethical guidelines for data collection and publication.
  • Ability to prioritize and deliver multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Working knowledge of PowerPoint, Smartsheet, Excel, GraphPad, EndNote or similar publication project management, graphics and referencing software.

Physical Requirements / Work Environment:



  • Sedentary work. Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally and/or carrying objects. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time.
  • The worker is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as: preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer screen, iPad, or other electronic device; and extensive reading.
  • The worker is not substantially exposed to adverse environmental conditions.


Compensation:

At Supernus, we offer a competitive compensation package that reflects your experiences and contributions. The expected salary range for fully qualified candidates applying for this role is $130,000 to $150,000. This range is what the Company reasonably expects to offer for the position and is not reflective of the full compensation scale of the role. This range may be modified in the future. An individual's salary within the range is based on multiple factors, which may include and are not limited to education, relevant experience, knowledge, length of industry experience and organizational needs.

You also will be able to participate in a competitive benefits package, including but not limited to: health, dental, vision, paid time off, 401k company match, company paid life insurance and health and wellness benefits. The total compensation package for this position also includes other compensation elements such as stock equity awards, employee stock purchase programs and participation in our Company's discretionary annual bonus program.
