DESCRIPTION OF WORK

As a Clerical Assistant 2, you will perform a variety of complex secretarial and clerical duties requiring detailed knowledge of agriculture and scientific terminology, with initial discretion to set priorities. You will answer phone calls and direct messages, greet visitors entering the Regional Office, process incoming and outgoing mail, maintain filing system, and order office supplies. You will also prepare citations for all regulatory programs; answer questions regarding pesticide applicator examinations and license processing; and serve as regional timekeeper for staff.

- Full-time employment
- Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
- Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time up to 5 days per pay period. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Greensburg, Pennsylvania. The ability to telework is subject to change at any time. Additional details may be provided during the interview.
- Salary: Selected candidates who are new to employment within the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary of $36,108 (before taxes).

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- Six months as a Clerical Assistant 1 (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or
- Graduation from high school; or
- An equivalent combination of experience and training.
Additional Requirements:
- You must be able to perform essential job functions.
Preferred Qualifications (not required):
- Customer service background (in person and telephone).
- Ability to work independently.
- Timekeeping and scheduling background.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks with deadlines.
- Experience using various computer applications.
