Description

Holden Mechanical is seeking a skilled Licensed HVAC/R Technician to support the installation, maintenance, and repair of commercial and industrial mechanical systems in Worcester, MA.

This role covers a broad range of equipment including heating systems (boilers, furnaces, geothermal), ventilation (ductwork, air balancing, industrial systems), air conditioning (VRF, chilled water, humidity control), and refrigeration (walk-in units, process cooling, data centers).

As part of a full-service mechanical contractor, the technician will work on repairs, retrofits, preventative maintenance, and new system installations. This position also supports piping installation, energy-efficient upgrades, and collaboration with engineering and fabrication teams to deliver high-quality, end-to-end mechanical solutions.



Essential Duties and Responsibilities:



  • Minimum 3 years commercial HVAC service experience


  • Minimum 3 years HVAC system installation experience


  • Motivated and enjoy working in the HVAC industry


  • MA Journeyman Refrigeration License


  • Troubleshooting and diagnostic skills


  • EPA universal certification


  • Valid driver's license


  • Must possess hand tools


  • Good communication skills


  • High school diploma


  • Skills in controls installation and troubleshooting or a willingness to learn



Work Environment:

This position requires the employee to work both inside and outside. The employee may be subject to loud noises and hot and cold temperatures while on work site.



Positions Type and Expected hours of Work:

This is a full-time 40-hour position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday 7:00 AM to 4:00 PM.



Travel: Daily travel to job sites throughout MA and RI



Physical Demands:



  • Lifting weight up to and over 75 lbs. in both a vertical and horizontal range of motion.
  • Crawl, stoop, stand, reach (push/pull) & bend to perform necessary work.
  • Able to ascend and descend on extension ladders, step ladders and stairs using feet and/or hands and arms.
  • Able to drive a company vehicle and walk around at job sites.
  • Reading, computer input, typing and answering the phone.
  • Clarity of vision at both over 20 feet and under 20 inches.
  • Able to judge depth (distance & space relationships), have a good field of vision, and identify and distinguish colors.
  • Adjustment of eye to bring object into sharp focus.
