Job Description

HEICO Repair Group Aerostructures, a recognized leader in the repair and overhaul of aircraft structural components, is currently looking for an Engineering Technician to join our team.


The Engineering Technician supports the engineering team in an FAA-regulated aerospace repair and overhaul environment. This role assists in developing, documenting, and implementing repair solutions, including FAA-approved 8110 repairs for structural conditions outside OEM CMM/SRM limits. The Engineering Technician plays a critical role in testing, data collection, and ensuring compliance with regulatory and quality standards.


Key Responsibilities include:



  • Develop and implement repair procedures for aircraft components such as nacelles, thrust reversers, flight control surfaces, and radomes
  • Prepare engineering documentation, reports, drawings, and work instructions
  • Participate in the development of FAA-approved 8110 repairs for non-standard structural damage
  • Perform inspections, take measurements, and collect data to support engineering analysis and repair validation
  • Support testing activities within the Transmissivity Test Cell for radome evaluation
  • Ensure compliance with FAA regulations, and company and quality standards
  • Review and interpret OEM CMMs, SRMs, and engineering drawings
  • Assist in troubleshooting repair issues and implementing corrective actions
  • Collaborate with production, quality, and engineering teams to ensure efficient workflow and technical accuracy

Requirements

Skills / Education and Experience



  • Bachelor's degree in aerospace engineering or a related field
  • Experience in aerospace, aviation, or manufacturing environment preferred
  • Familiarity with aircraft structures and components preferred
  • Must be able to use micrometers, calipers, etc.
  • Must be able to read blueprints, schematics, and diagrams
  • Must be able to interpret technical data
  • Must be able to speak, read, and write in English





Physical Demands




  • Ability to sit or stand for extended periods
  • Must be able to lift up to 30lbs
  • Capability to work in a shop environment with moderate noise levels and exposure to mechanical equipment
