The Broad Institute of MIT and Harvard is seeking a Director of Research Operations to lead global research programs at the intersection of mental health, psychiatric epidemiology, and human genetics. This role will drive the strategy, execution, and continuous improvement of complex, multi-site studies conducted across the United States, Africa, Latin America, and other international settings.

The Director will oversee day-to-day and long-term research operations, including study implementation, data and biospecimen workflows, regulatory compliance, and financial management. They will design and scale operational infrastructure to support high-quality, ethical research across diverse global contexts, and partner closely with Principal Investigators, institutional teams, and international collaborators to advance scientific goals.

This role also includes leadership of multidisciplinary teams across multiple countries, with responsibility for hiring, mentoring, and developing staff. The Director will manage a portfolio of grants and subawards, ensuring financial stewardship, compliance, and alignment with program priorities. As a key operational leader, they will represent research programs to internal and external stakeholders and contribute to the growth of new global initiatives.

Qualifications
  • Master's degree in public health, research administration, or a related field
  • 10+ years of experience in research operations or research administration, including international work
  • Experience managing multi-site, global research programs
  • Demonstrated leadership of multidisciplinary teams
  • Knowledge of regulatory and compliance requirements for human subjects research
  • Experience managing budgets, grants, and subawards
The expected base pay range for this position as listed above is based on a 40 hour per week schedule. Broad provides pay ranges representing its reasonable and good faith estimate of what the organization reasonably expects to pay for a position at the time of posting. Actual compensation will vary based on factors including but not limited to, relevant skills, experience, education, qualifications, and other factors permissible by law.
