Position Purpose

Reporting to the Director of Employer Brand and Recruitment Marketing, the Multimedia and Visual Communications Specialist creates engaging visual content that brings the Petco partner (employee) story to life.

This role partners with the recruitment marketing team to produce compelling digital and print materials that attract top talent.

Responsibilities include concept development, content creation, creative graphic design and execution, and maintaining brand consistency across all platforms.

Must have a high level of technical skill with Adobe Creative Suite;efficiency,flexibility, and versatility are highly valued. The ideal candidate loves the details of creating clear, well-laid-out assets that will meet brand creative standards.

Requires a high degree of focus and extreme diligence in handling detail,typography, and creating 100% accurate digital assets. Must feel comfortable in a fast-paced work environment and be deadline-driven.

Essential Job Functions: The ideal candidate must be able to perform all of the following duties and responsibilities with or without a reasonable accommodation.

  • Review assignments directly with the Director of Employer Brand and Recruitment Marketing and other members of the recruitment marketing team to determine the best execution.

  • Conceptualize and design quality digital marketing materials leveraging clean typography and strategic visual communication skills to support employer branding and recruitment marketing campaigns.

  • Design/Build accurate files based on the approved style guide or concept layout and maintain the creative integrity of the original concept and brand.

  • Edit photo and video content for social media (YouTube, LinkedIn)

  • Design and edit eye-catching graphics for social media, PowerPoint, web, email, e-newsletters, and print materials (brochures, flyers, signage, trade show graphics)

  • Translate and adapt developed concepts into digital collateral (including web pages, site placements, display banners, email,newsletters, and various marketing campaign collateral)
    Review file specifications requirements before producing files and maintain consistent file preparation suitable for the production team.

  • Make recommendations and design decisions based on design trends, data, user experience, and audience insights.

  • Maintain brand alignment and consistency across all materials

  • Recommend improvements to creative, processes, and outputs - advocates for design integrity and efficiencies.

  • Be a responsive and efficient team member with the ability to organize and manage multiple projects that meet quality/brand standards and deadlines.

  • Take art direction with a positive attitude and process artistic and technical feedback in a detail-oriented manner.

  • Have the ability to manage multiple projects and remain flexible through multiple revisions while keeping a keen attention to detail.

  • Be able to rapidly iterate candidate-facing campaign designs to fit a variety of specifications.

  • Ensure the quality and accuracy of files that are created or sent to vendors or partners.

  • Communicate as necessary with partners to eliminate and prevent errors and problems.

  • Assist in organizing, monitoring, archiving, and maintaining files.

Required Skills & Experience

  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, Premiere, After Effects, Lightroom) and PowerPoint

  • Familiarity with tools like Canva, Figma, and CMS platforms

  • Experience creating content for social platforms like LinkedIn and YouTube

  • Knowledge of user experience design and user interface principles

  • Fast-moving executor who hits deadlines, maintains accuracy, and adapts quickly.

  • Design-obsessed thinker who energizes the team with new ideas and elevated taste

  • Collaborative partner who communicates well and supports cross-functional alignment

  • Audience-centric - curious about what motivates and captures attention, and translates insights into design

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in graphic, visual, or multimedia design

  • Minimum 5 years of professional graphic design experience, preferably in retail or e-commerce

  • Strong portfolio demonstrating creative and technical skills across a variety of media

  • Experience in employer brand and recruitment marketing aplus but not required.

Interact professionally and effectively through verbal and written communication with all professional contacts.

Perform other duties as assigned or required.

This position performs tasks/projects as assigned and may have their work reviewed periodically by supervisors.
