Veridian Homes, an innovative company with an emphasis on smart growth and green built practices, is seeking an Accounts Payable Specialist to join ourfinanceteam! As an Accounts Payable Specialist, you will ensure the accurate and timely processing of accounts payable transactions, supporting multiple departments and entities within our organization.


Responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:


  • Process weekly accounts payable and check requests.
  • Enter vendor invoices and ensure accurate coding across all departments and entities.
  • Prepare and mail out weekly check runs, including matching remittance stubs and merging checks with lien waivers.
  • Maintain records of unused, voided, outstanding, and cleared vendor checks.
  • Reconcile inter-company accounts receivable and payable.
  • Distribute and process company credit card statements for coding and payment.
  • Request and track current insurance certificates from Trade Partners.
  • Monitor outstanding lien waivers and send reminders to delinquent Trade Partners.
  • Maintain and update real estate tax schedules; prepare and process tax installment payments.
  • Record annual real estate tax assessments and distribute to leadership for review.
  • Reconcile trade supplier invoice statements with accounts payable and payment records, investigate variances, communicate with trade suppliers, and resolve any disputes.
  • Assist in the preparation of and compliance with IRS 1099 reporting requirements.


A successful candidate will have an associate or bachelor's degree inaccounting, finance, or related field, and a minimum of (2) years of accounts payable experience. Strong analytical, mathematical and communication skills are essential, as is the ability to work with sensitive and confidential information with integrity. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, accurate, and able to work both independently and collaboratively. The candidate must manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and maintain a customer-focused, proactive approach. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including SharePoint, Teams, Outlook, Excel, and Word, is required.
