| Position Summary |
The Director of Scouting will create and manage a database of prospective student-athletes who currently play for college teams, using various tools to identify and initially evaluate. The individual will serve as a high school, junior, or community college (
JUCO), and transfer recruiting specialist/analyst for assigned position coaches. Responsible for developing, improving, and maintaining
FBS and
FCS player roster database. Manage, oversee, and improve college scouting procedures and practices while maintaining the transfer target board. |
| Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and/or Competencies |
- Previous experience in football recruiting or player personnel department or related area; Familiar with and demonstrate a commitment to compliance with NCAA and SEC rules.
- Ability to communicate and organize schedules.
- Ability to stay up to date with recruiting current events and keep coaches informed.
- Understand computer systems, including but not limited to Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Work nights and/or weekends and holidays.

Scouting & Roster Database
- Develop, improve, and maintain FBS and FCS player/roster database.
- Manage, oversee, and improve college scouting procedures and practices.
- Oversee and maintain transfer target board.
- Create and upkeep college scouting player and team reports.
- Create and update player tracking/alert lists of all CFB players from recruiting footprint.
- Monitor previous high school recruiting targets that did not sign with UGA football program.
- Compile conference transfer in-out reports
- Compile and maintain quality control of UGA snap counts, participation, and red-shirt status.
- Oversee staff room roster/depth chart tags.
- Compile and track opponent roster makeups
- Place particular scouting emphasis on positions of need provided by Head Football Coach and Director of Player Personnel.
- Generate Pre and Actual portal watch lists
