Franklin Precision Castings is a leading investment casting foundry specializing in high-quality precision castings for a variety of industries. Our 50,000-square-foot facility located in Franklin, Pennsylvania is home to a dedicated team of skilled professionals committed to safety, quality, and continuous improvement.
As our Shellroom Technician, you'll play an essential role in the investment casting process by building ceramic shell molds used to produce precision castings. Your work will directly impact product quality and production success.

Shift Schedule
Weekend Shift: Friday, Saturday, Sunday | 5:00 AM - 5:00 PM (work 36 hours / paid 40 hours)

Key Responsibilities
  • Build ceramic shell molds by dipping wax patterns into slurry and applying sand/stucco coatings
  • Operate shellroom equipment including mixers, fluidized beds, and drying systems
  • Monitor slurry viscosity, temperature, and material conditions to ensure process control
  • Inspect wax assemblies and shell builds for defects, damage, or inconsistencies
  • Follow production schedules to meet daily and weekly output requirements
  • Maintain accurate production and quality records
  • Clean, maintain, and organize shellroom equipment and work areas
  • Safely handle materials, chemicals, and equipment in accordance with company procedures
  • Work closely with supervisors and team members to resolve process issues and improve efficiency
  • Follow all company safety, quality, and housekeeping standards
Required Qualifications
  • High School diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
  • Dependable attendance and ability to work assigned weekend shift schedule
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and perform physical tasks including standing, bending, reaching, and repetitive movement
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Preferred Skills
  • Prior manufacturing or production experience
  • Experience in foundry, shellroom, or investment casting operations
  • Forklift experience
  • Familiarity with quality inspections or process documentation
  • Mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills
