Sheetfed Press - Assistant - 2nd Shift (60276)

Job Summary:

As a Sheetfed Press - Assistant, you are responsible for assisting the Pressman in the setup, operation and maintenance of a four-color press to produce printed materials.

Essential Functions:

• Hangs and positions plates properly to secure correct registration between colors.
• Fill water fountain with proper chemical mixture.
• Adjust feeder guides, grippers and pile height to ensure proper paper delivery.
• Correct machine malfunctions such as misfeeds, misregister, paper jams, etc.
• Pack plates and blankets where needed to secure proper pressures.
• Follow instructions on job tickets.
• All other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

• Must be able to communicate in a clear manner with coworkers and management.
• Must be able to lift a minimum of 40lbs in a repetitive nature.
• Must be able to do simple math, differentiate color and read.
• Required to learn how to operate a press.
• Must possess strong troubleshooting skills and general mechanical knowledge.

Working Conditions/Physical Demands:

• Required to sit, stand or walk for prolonged periods of time.
• Use hands and fingers to handle or feel objects or use controls, tools or equipment.
• May require the ability to use a keyboard and other office equipment.
• May require specific vision abilities that include close vision.
• May be required to perform concentrated work for extended periods of time.
• May be required to lift, carry or exert items or objects of reasonable weight.
• May be required to perform duties beyond standard business hours.

Minimum Requirements:

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
