Employment Type: Intern Division: Business Development Department: Business Development Salary Range: $23 - $28/hour The Business Development Intern supports the Business Development team in project cost reporting, change management, and opportunity tracking. This role offers hands-on experience in lead research, CRM data management, project analysis, and presenting findings to internal teams and clients within a dynamic, growth-focused environment.
Responsibilities / Essential Functions
- Assist with project cost and change management by preparing detailed reports for review with team members and presenting findings at both internal and Owner meetings.
- Support the Business Development team by researching, tracking, reviewing, and reporting on new projects and business opportunities.
- Conduct thorough research on projects, companies, key individuals, and committees from various sources, and accurately track potential construction leads within the Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system.
- Generate analytical data reports as needed to support decision-making and business strategies.
- Maintain and update the CRM database daily, ensuring all data is accurate, current, and well-organized.
- Assist in preparing presentations and marketing materials to support business development initiatives.
- Coordinate communication and follow-ups with potential clients, partners, and internal stakeholders.
- Monitor market trends, competitor activity, and industry developments to identify potential growth opportunities.
- Support event planning and participation related to business development, such as client meetings, networking events, or trade shows.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment on project updates and business development strategies.
- Perform various administrative duties to support the Business Development team's operations.

Required Experience
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Marketing, Construction Management, or a related field.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook).
- Familiarity with Customer Relationship Management (CRM) software and/or sales tracking tools.
- Comfortable preparing data-driven reports, dashboards, and presentations to support decision-making.
- Basic understanding of construction project lifecycle, AEC industry terminology, and project management concepts (preferred).
- Knowledge of market research, competitive analysis, or client segmentation strategies (a plus).
- Ability to support proposal development and maintain business development documentation (e.g., pursuit logs, contact records).
- Familiarity with sales enablement tools, graphic presentation tools (e.g., InDesign or Canva), or CRM analytics (a bonus).
