Job Description

SUMMARY: The Maintenance Planner/Scheduler is responsible for processing, prioritizing, and scheduling work orders to support safe, reliable, and efficient refinery operations. This role works closely with Operations, Maintenance, Procurement, Warehousing, and contractors to ensure work is properly scoped, planned, resourced, and scheduled before execution.



RESPONSIBILITIES:



  • Process work requests into work orders in Maximo CMMS for assigned areas.
  • Build complete job packages including labor, materials, tools, safety requirements, access needs, and estimated duration.
  • Schedule all active work orders with operations/maintenance management to lock in the one-week in advance schedule.
  • Perform weekly work order updates with supervision to maintain an active backlog of jobs.
  • Coordinate and schedule external vendors for maintenance and contracting needs.
  • Initiate the procurement of materials, special tools and unique items required in the job plans using relevant maintenance programs and database tools.
  • Perform field walk down of all jobs being planned to accurately account for all job steps, equipment, and craft needs.
  • Maintain accurate work order data, status updates, and planning details in Maximo.
  • Independently solve moderately complex issues with minimal supervision, while escalating more complex issues to appropriate staff.



REQUIREMENTS: A successful candidate must possess the ability to perform each essential duty to a satisfactory level.   • High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent is required.
  • 5+ years of manufacturing or maintenance planning or maintenance operations.
  • 3+ years of Maximo CMMS experience is required.
  • Experience with coordinating maintenance-related work including ordering supplies/materials, scheduling contractors, and producing job plans is required.
  • Strong working knowledge of maintenance workflow, filed execution, and backlog management.
  • Must be a team player that communicates effectively with co-workers in a group or in independent cooperative activities.
  • Ability to read and write clear, accurate and concise reports and business correspondence using standard Microsoft Office programs.



PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Must be able to move from place to place to all areas of production. You must be able to wear all required safety equipment. Must be able to push/pull up to 25 lbs., lift to 25 lbs. unassisted, bend, stoop, and kneel.



WORK ENVIRONMENT: Work environment varies from office, plant production and outside climate conditions, based on the situation. The noise level varies depending on which area of production the employee is working in.



NORMAL WORK SCHEDULE: Days/M-F. The hours and days of work are established by departmental needs and at the discretion of management. Occasional changes in schedule may be required as special circumstances arise.
