Aon is looking for an Analyst - Financial Industry

This is an industry-leading group delivering unparalleled solutions within Aon's Insurance Benchmarking practice! This position offers an opportunity to work as an Analyst in our Cincinnati, Ohio office. We are the top tier provider of benchmarking and market practice studies for the insurance industry! Our clients comprise companies of all sizes, including more than half of the top 100 U.S. insurance carriers.

Your impact:

The Analyst will evaluate benchmarking data for each assigned client to verify that all statistical, headcount, and expense information is compiled consistently and accurately using common definitions applied to all participants. Work with client contact to adjust the data as vital. Act as the primary consultant on 15-20 property-casualty and/or life-health benchmarking assignments. Working with our senior leaders, this candidate will contribute to strategy, relationship management and business development.

Job Responsibilities:
  • Support client teams on multiple assignments related to our benchmarking products and consulting engagements. Ensure successful completion of each benchmarking project including analysis and processing of data, coordination of client scheduling and onsite visits, and client communication.
  • Answer client questions regarding data requirements, calculations used and definitions applied in the benchmarking models.
  • Assist with the preparation of materials for the benchmarking results presentations including but not limited to: the selection of benchmark groups, selection of performance measurements to be used in graphs, compilation of gap analysis and other materials related to executive briefings, and review of all materials for accuracy.
  • Annually direct market practice strategic studies as identified.
  • Research existing and emerging trends in client businesses.
  • Prepare special reports and analyses geared toward presenting insights.

  • Up to 3 years of demonstrated ability
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Excellent Excel and PowerPoint skills
  • Understanding of financial accounting concepts and insurance industry accounting principles and business practices preferred
Education:
  • Bachelors or Master's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or similar field.

The salary range for this position (intended for U.S. applicants) is $60,000 - $80,000 annually. The actual salary will vary based on applicant's education, experience, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data. The salary may also be adjusted based on applicant's geographic location.

This position is eligible to participate in one of Aon's annual incentive plans to receive an annual discretionary bonus in addition to base salary. The amount of any bonus varies and is subject to the terms and conditions of the applicable incentive plan.
