Project Management Intern - Talent Strategy & War Fighter Integrator Program

Location: Reston, VA/ Hybrid / Remote
Organization: Leidos
Duration: Summer / Part-time during school year (Flexible Hours)
Reporting To: War Fighter Integrator Program Lead (with matrix support to HR)

Leidos is seeking a Project Management Intern to support the coordination and execution of strategic initiatives within the War Fighter Integrator (WFI) program while also contributing to enterprise talent strategy efforts led by Human Resources. This role is designed for a highly organized and analytical student interested in program management, workforce strategy, and operational execution within a large-scale enterprise environment. The intern will gain exposure to how major programs align workforce planning, talent development, and operational execution to support mission-critical outcomes.

The intern will work directly with the War Fighter Integrator Program Lead while partnering with the Human Resources team to support project coordination, research, analysis, and program execution.

Key Responsibilities

Program Management Support (War Fighter Integrator Program)

  • Assist with coordination and tracking of key program initiatives, deliverables, and milestones.
  • Support development and maintenance of project plans, timelines, and action trackers.
  • Assist with preparation of program briefings, documentation, and executive updates.
  • Track project progress and identify risks, dependencies, or blockers that may impact timelines.
  • Support meeting coordination, agenda preparation, and documentation of action items.
  • Assist in maintaining program documentation and SharePoint or collaboration platforms.

Talent Strategy & Workforce Initiatives (HR Support)

  • Support HR initiatives related to strategic workforce planning, skills development, and talent pipelines.
  • Assist with analysis and organization of workforce data, skills information, and program staffing requirements.
  • Help coordinate cross-functional talent initiatives tied to program growth and capability development.
  • Conduct research on industry best practices related to talent strategy, workforce planning, and skills-based organizations.
  • Support development of presentations, frameworks, and materials used in internal strategy discussions.

Strategic Analysis & Research

  • Conduct targeted research to support program or HR strategy initiatives.
  • Assist in synthesizing information into clear summaries, briefing materials, or visual frameworks.
  • Support preparation of leadership-level materials related to program execution or workforce strategy.

Administrative & Coordination Support

  • Organize project materials, documentation, and tracking tools.
  • Maintain project trackers, timelines, and status updates.
  • Coordinate across stakeholders to gather required inputs for program deliverables.

Qualifications

Required

  • Currently pursuing a bachelor's degree in:
    • Business Administration
    • Project Management
    • Human Resources
    • Organizational Development
    • Public Policy
    • Engineering / Technical management
    • or a related field
  • Strong organizational and project coordination skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities in a structured manner
  • Experience using AI-enabled tools to support research, data analysis, content development, and workflow efficiency.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (PowerPoint, Excel, Word)

Preferred

  • Ability to work part-time during the academic year and potentially increase hours during academic breaks.
  • Interest in project/program management, workforce strategy, HR strategy, or consulting
  • Experience with data analysis, research, or business case development
  • Familiarity with collaboration tools such as SharePoint, Teams, or project tracking tools
  • Ability to synthesize complex information into clear summaries

Pay Range:Pay Range $41,600.00 - $75,200.00
