ROLE OVERVIEW:

This position is responsible to drive haul truck to transport large rocks to and from specified destinations. This is a night shift with a shift differential available.

Typical hours during Production are Sunday-Thursday 4:30 PM-4:30 AM. Typical hours during Maintenance are M-Th 6:00 AM - 4:00 PM

DUTIES AND/OR RESPONSIBILITIES (summary of components that make up the job)



  1. Operate haul truck within the mine site in accordance with all applicable safety regulations, specifically, MSHA and Knife River policies.
  2. Transport materials safely in varying weather, light and site conditions.
  3. Must be able to clearly and effectively communicate with fellow employees to relay and receive information.
  4. Complete Pre and Post operational equipment inspections accurately and legibly.
  5. Maintain proper operating levels of the equipment's fluids, fuel, tire pressures, etc.
  6. Maintain a clean and safe operating cab. Windows, mirrors, seat, floor, etc.
  7. Ability to operate a 2.5" high pressure water hose, independently, for mobile equipment clean up and wash out duties.
  8. Assist with clean up duties at crushing plants, this includes but is not limited to: shoveling, using hand tools and the use of high pressure water hoses.
  9. Willingness and ability to work long hours during the production season.
  10. Performs other duties as assigned.


MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS (minimum educational, experience, or other relevant job requirements)



  1. High school diploma or general education degree (GED), or
  2. Up to one month related experience or training, or
  3. Equivalent combination of education and experience.
  4. Driver's license required.
  5. Ensure OSHA, DOT, EPA, DNR, MSHA, Federal, State, and Local safety and environmental regulation compliance including attending training.
  6. This position may require you to wear a half mask respirator at times and therefore, you will be required to be fit tested. Per OSHA "The Respiratory Protection standard, paragraph 29 CFR 1910.134(g)(1)(i)(A), states that respirators shall not be worn when facial hair comes between the sealing surface of the facepiece and the face or that interferes with valve function. Facial hair is allowed as long as it does not protrude under the respirator seal, or extend far enough to interfere with the device's valve function. Short mustaches, sideburns, and small goatees that are neatly trimmed so that no hair compromises the seal of the respirator usually do not present a hazard and, therefore, do not violate paragraph 1910.134(g)(1)(i).
