THE POSITION

As the Deputy Director of Field Investigations, you will serve as a key executive partner within the Bureau of Enforcement and Investigation (BEI), driving operational excellence and advancing a mission that protects the public and upholds accountability across the Commonwealth. DESCRIPTION OF WORK

In this influential position, you will work side-by-side with the Director to lead and coordinate operations across four regional offices, the Charities Investigation Unit (CIU), and BEI headquarters. Work involves overseeing critical fiscal, administrative, and operational functions while shaping policy, guiding program oversight, and influencing strategic decisions at the highest level. You will have the opportunity to lead with purpose, strengthen enforcement efforts, and make a measurable impact through innovation, collaboration, and decisive leadership. Key responsibilities include:

  • Performing a full range of supervisory duties
  • Handling grievances and complaints
  • Overseeing investigative and inspection activities
  • Developing and implementing program policies, standards, and training programs
  • Representing the Bureau at meetings, hearings, and public forums
  • Preparing budgetary and staffing proposals

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment
  • Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
  • Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Harrisburg. The ability to telework is subject to change at any time. Additional details may be provided during the interview.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • One year as a Regional Director, Bureau of Enforcement and Investigation (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or
  • Seven years of investigative experience involving the development and presentation of evidence regarding alleged violations of laws and regulations that includes three years of supervisory experience related to investigative activities, and a bachelor's degree; or
  • An equivalent combination of experience and training that includes three years of supervisory experience related to investigative activities.

Other Requirements:

  • This particular position also require possession of a current driver's license which is not under suspension.
