Job Overview

The PR Associate, Digital Product Placement & Editorial Affiliate Strategy will lead efforts to drive paid editorial coverage that converts. This role is responsible for securing high-impact digital placements through paid affiliate partnerships. The ideal candidate has 5-7 years of PR experience, deep relationships with shopping editors, and a strong understanding of affiliate platforms and paid editorial strategies. This role is an individual contributor role that will work cross-functionally with the earned communications team and traditional affiliate media teams.

What You Will Do



  • Lead outreach focused on digital product placements in commerce-driven editorial content with a focus on fashion, beauty and home
  • Secure coverage through weekly pitching and paid affiliate commissions.
  • Manage relationships with shopping editors at top-tier fashion, beauty, and home publications.
  • Negotiate and execute paid affiliate editorial linking, ensuring alignment with brand priorities and performance goals.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Communications, Marketing Strategy, Social, and Affiliate teams to align product priorities and seasonal pushes.
  • Manage editorial affiliate budget and commission structure with agency and internal teams.
  • Track and report on coverage, affiliate performance, and ROI of placements weekly.
  • Stay ahead of trends in digital commerce and editorial affiliate marketing to inform strategy and pitching.
  • Develop a pitching cadence that focuses on driving business and Macy's relevancy through the right products.
  • Foster an environment of acceptance and respect that strengthens relationships, and ensures authentic connections with colleagues, customers, and communities.


Skills You Will Need



  • 5-7 years of experience in PR, with a focus on digital media and commerce-driven editorial.
  • Strong relationships with shopping editors at leading outlets (e.g., Vogue, Buzzfeed, Refinery29, People.com, Bustle, Who What Wear, Marie Claire, Apartment Therapy, Home & Gardens etc.).
  • Proven success in managing paid affiliate editorial campaigns.
  • Experience with affiliate platforms and tools (e.g., Skimlinks, Commission Junction).
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and storytelling skills.
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and performance-driven.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.


Who You Are



  • Candidates with a Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience in a related field are encouraged to apply.
  • Regularly required to sit, talk, hear; use hands/fingers to touch, handle, and feel. Occasionally required to move about the workplace and reach with hands and arms. Requires close vision.
  • Able to work a flexible schedule based on department and company needs.
