Job Title: Scientist Length of Contract: 12 months Location: South San Francisco, CA, 94080 - Hybrid onsite (3 of 5 weekdays onsite) Description: Purpose: The Precision Medicine Pathology team at the Client's drives the scientific strategy for translational tissue-based biomarker development & discovery target validation/MOA projects, leads pathology collaborative programs, conducts histopathological evaluation & analysis of IHC & spatial biology technologies, and provides technical/scientific leadership to histotechnicians & pathology scientists. The successful candidate is expected to have familiarity with spatial biology and histopathology workflows, assist with spatial biology experiments and oversee the upkeep of spatial biology lab. Responsibilities: * Maintaining spatial biology lab equipment (PhenoCycler Fusion, CosMx SMI) * Organizing and managing spatial biology reagent inventory * Ordering reagents and tracking orders * Supporting spatial biology experiments * Learning and supporting spatial proteomics and transcriptomics data analysis Qualifications: * Bachelor's or Master's degree in a related field, with 1-2 years of lab experience in academic or industry setting * Highly organized * Ability to multi-task and manage multiple assignments * Experience in quantitative digital pathology analysis platforms such as Halo, Visiopharm, QuPath is preferred but not required * Knowledge of Python and R is preferred but not required * Familiarity with spatial data analysis is preferred but not required * Close familiarity with tissue microscopic anatomy and histology (normal and diseased) is a plus * Excellent verbal communication skills are required including the demonstrated ability to effectively and clearly summarize results for presentation and report generation * Strong motivation, attention to detail, ability to think independently and fully integrate into a high achieving team environment | |
