Overview
ViaPath is currently seeking a Senior Finance Systems Analyst to join our Finance team. The Senior Analyst will serve as the lead Power BI visualization analyst and act as the day-to-day administrator of our Workday Adaptive planning system. Responsibilities include maintaining our present reporting deliverables while closely working with the Finance team and other key stakeholders to deliver additional actionable insights. The Senior Analyst assumes a crucial role in ensuring accuracy and integrity of financial data used for revenue and cost reporting, period ending analysis, KPI measurement and monitoring, forecasting, and annual budget activities. Hybrid position to be based at the ViaPath office in Falls Church, VA.

Retrieve data and design reports from financial systems (D365, Adaptive), as well as underlying platforms, and visualization tools (Power BI).
- Design, build, and maintain Power BI models and dashboards and ensure consistent business logic across reports.
- Administer finance applications (e.g., Adaptive, Power BI) including user provisioning, roles/permissions, workflow configuration, and scheduled jobs.
- Support period close, forecasting, and planning cycles by maintaining calendars, ensuring data loads, monitoring reconciliations, and troubleshooting system issues.
- Own system configurations, chart of accounts design, hierarchies, and finance master data for Adaptive Planning.
- Implement and monitor data quality checks, audit trails, and internal controls related to finance systems and reporting.
- Coordinate testing (UAT), release management, and communication for Adaptive system updates, integrations, and report changes.
- Collaborate with finance team members and key stakeholders to understand reporting requirements and identify areas for improvement/efficiencies in creating reports.
- Ensure finance users are equipped to fully leverage system capabilities.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree required (preferably in Finance, Accounting, Information Systems, Business Analytics, or related field); Master's degree preferred.
- 5-8 years of experience in finance systems administration, financial reporting/analytics, or related roles.
- Financial planning systems administration experience is required. Adaptive administration experience preferred.
- Power BI experience building data models and dashboards is required.
- Experience supporting finance processes (GL, close, budgeting/forecasting, management reporting).
- Advanced Excel knowledge and skills (data, formulas, modeling, etc.).
- Ability to accumulate, organize and manipulate quantitative data to identify relationships and explain trends.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- High attention to detail with the ability to summarize and reconcile large quantities of data
- Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to effectively make formal and informal presentations to all levels of the organization.
- Practical knowledge of the interdependencies between Income Statement, Balance Sheet, and Statement of Cash Flows and solid understanding of accounting principles.
- Experience working with D365 is a plus.
