Day & Zimmermann is seeking an experienced Director, Projects- Industrial to join our Project Delivery Team.

As a Director, Projects- Industrial here is the work you will do:


  • Responsible for achieving and exceeding financial, operational, growth, customer retention, and safety goals within the industrial market.
  • Build strong and productive relationships with key clients, stakeholders and support organization partners to facilitate project delivery, optimal customer relations and expand the growth of projects.
  • Ensure effective project and contract management governance, procedures, tools and financial controls are established and maintained for project operation in the industrial market.
  • Create training and development plans for project leaders to gain consistency in execution of project delivery. Conduct tactical reviews of the total work plans to ensure adequate organizational resources are prioritized and deployed to support the contract requirements. Provide oversight on consistency in execution and procedural compliance.
  • Partner with cross functional teams to support proposal development. Provide oversight and integrate with site teams.



This role is for you if you have these skills/ qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or Construction Management or related field experience or equivalent experience
  • 12+ years Leadership experience managing large, complex projects within the industrial market.
  • Demonstrated background in Projects and/or Construction management experience. Strong knowledge and experience in project management and project controls, preferably at an enterprise or multi-site level. Comfortable and can effectively bid and manage contracts on T&M, lump sum, and/or firm fixed price basis
  • Action oriented; can be counted on to consistently exceed goals; bottom-line oriented; clearly assigns responsibility for tasks and decisions; pushes others for results and holds them accountable; sets business/account strategy and works through others to achieve results; maintains big-picture view of key projects and initiatives without getting lost in the details
  • Understands how the business works including drivers of cost and revenue; able to understand and work with key financial measurements to analyze the business; able to develop actions to correct financial performance and/or develop new business; Understands the market and how business strategies influence.
  • Cultivates strong relationships with people, internal and external, to create value, influence and increase revenue and market share.
  • Clearly and consistently gets information across in a timely and effective manner both verbally and in writing. Demonstrates the ability to influence people and get them to take appropriate action
  • Excellent communication, negotiation and interpersonal skills. Proficient in project management software and tools.



In compliance with this state's pay transparency laws, the salary range for this role is $154,160 - $ 231,240. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location. (The specific programs and options available to an employee may vary depending on date of hire, schedule type, and the applicability of union fringes).
