Job Summary
Equinix is seeking a strategic, results-oriented and hands-on Director to lead xScale Finance Transformation & Service Enablement activities. This role is responsible for driving the design, delivery, governance, and continuous improvement of finance transformation initiatives and operating model development, ensuring solutions are scalable, well controlled, and effectively embedded within the finance organization. This is a hands-on leadership role. In addition to leading the function and managing a team, the Director will be expected to work at a detailed level to review, challenge, and validate team outputs; oversee interpretation of finance requirements arising from legal agreements; and directly lead selected transformation initiatives. The role also carries accountability for high-quality dashboards, executive reporting, presentations, and other decision-support materials for senior stakeholders and cross-functional leadership teams.

Key Responsibilities

Finance Transformation & Delivery


  • Lead the continued development and execution of the finance transformation roadmap, aligned to strategic priorities and business needs.

  • Direct and deliver transformation initiatives that improve finance processes, controls, reporting, automation, and scalability.

  • Personally lead selected high-priority projects, taking accountability for end-to-end execution.

  • Oversee the full lifecycle of transformation and systems-enabled initiatives, including requirements gathering, design, testing, implementation, go-live readiness, stabilisation, and transition to business-as-usual.

  • Ensure projects are delivered with appropriate governance, risk management, stakeholder engagement, and focus on sustainable outcomes.


Process Governance, Joint Ventures Legal Agreement Operationalisation


  • Oversee the review and interpretation of joint ventures legal and commercial agreements to ensure finance implications are fully understood and reflected in operational activities and system requirements.

  • Oversee detailed review of finance operating processes and future-state designs to ensure they are robust, controlled, scalable, and fit for purpose.
    Drive consistency in process design, documentation standards, and operational governance across the function.


Team Leadership & Solution Oversight


  • Lead, coach, and develop a team responsible for finance transformation, process design, documentation, and implementation support.

  • Review, validate, and approve detailed team deliverables to ensure accuracy, completeness, operational practicality, and alignment with business objectives.

  • Oversee the preparation of key deliverables, including process maps and workflows, business requirements documents, functional specifications, solution design documents, operating procedures, and process narratives.

  • Ensure documentation framework is clearly structured, decision-useful, and suitable for both business and technical stakeholders.

  • Build a strong delivery culture focused on accountability, quality, continuous improvement, and stakeholder service.


Reporting, Stakeholder Management & Change Enablement


  • Lead the production of comprehensive dashboards, portfolio-level updates, status reporting, and executive presentations for finance and cross-functional leadership teams.

  • Translate complex transformation activity into clear, concise, and relevant reporting for senior stakeholders.

  • Build strong relationships across finance, technology, legal, tax, treasury, and business functions to drive alignment and delivery.

  • Lead cross-functional discussions to define requirements, resolve issues, and support timely decision-making.

  • Ensure change management, communication, training, and readiness planning are embedded into transformation initiatives to support successful adoption of new processes, systems, and operating models.

  • Continuously identify opportunities to improve finance operations through automation, standardisation, and process redesign, promoting practical solutions that improve efficiency, strengthen control, and reduce manual activity.


Experience & Qualifications


  • 15+ year's experience in finance transformation, finance operations, programme delivery, and related leadership role.

  • Proven experience leading complex, cross-functional finance transformation initiatives.

  • Strong understanding of finance processes, controls, operating models, and reporting.

  • Experience reviewing and validating detailed process, requirements, and implementation outputs.

  • Experience in finance systems implementation and business process transformation.

  • Strong stakeholder management and executive communication skills.

  • Professional finance qualification such as ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or CPA.

  • Project or change qualifications such as PMP, Prince2, or equivalent are advantageous.


The targeted pay range for this position in the following location is / locations are:

Canada - Toronto Office TRO : 166,000 - 248,000 CAD / Annual

United States - Dallas Infomart Office DAI : 177,000 - 265,000 USD / Annual

Our pay ranges reflect the minimum and maximum target for new hire pay for the full-time position determined by role, level, and location.The pay range shown is based on our compensation structure in place at the time of posting and may be updated periodically based on business needs. Individual pay is based on additional factors including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education and/or training.

The targeted pay range listed reflects the base pay only and does not include bonus, equity, or benefits. Employees are eligible for bonus, and equity may be offered depending on the position.
