Position Responsibilities We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled VB.NET and C# Software Developer to join our senior engineering team. This role is ideal for a developer with extensive experience in C# and .NET technologies who is ready to take on leadership responsibilities, drive architectural decisions, and contribute to the strategic direction of our software projects. The successful candidate will excel in complex problem-solving, mentor other developers, influence the overall technology strategy, and play a key role in resolving complex customer and production issues. This position requires both strategic thinking and practical execution, including direct involvement in high-impact support and escalation scenarios. Responsibilities: Collaborate with senior management to define technology strategy and roadmap. Evaluate and recommend new technologies and methodologies to drive innovation and improve development practices. Work closely with product managers, business analysts, and designers to gather requirements and translate them into technical solutions. Develop complex functionality and integrations, ensuring alignment with business requirements and technical standards. Solve complex technical challenges and perform in-depth analysis to troubleshoot and resolve high-impact issues. Provide technical guidance and support across multiple projects. Lead the design and implementation of high-impact software solutions and system architectures. Define technical standards and best practices to guide the development team. Take ownership of project deliverables, ensuring timely and high-quality execution. Ensure thorough documentation of code, design decisions, and system architecture. Advocate for and enforce best practices in software development, testing, and deployment. Provide technical leadership and guidance to development teams, promoting best practices and coding standards. Mentor and guide senior, mid-level, and junior developers. Conduct code reviews, provide feedback, and promote a culture of continuous improvement and professional growth. Evaluate and apply AI-assisted development tools and techniques where appropriate to improve engineering efficiency, quality, and maintainability. Collaborate with leadership on responsible and practical adoption of AI capabilities in engineering workflows and product features, aligned with company policies. Serve as a senior technical escalation point for complex support and help desk cases, including production issues and upgrade-related failures. Partner with Support, Services, and Product teams to diagnose systemic issues and drive long-term fixes. Focus Areas: AI Standards Development: Establish team guidelines for AI tool usage and quality standards Cross-functional AI Collaboration: Work with non-technical stakeholders to implement AI solutions Qualifications A college degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field is required. Minimum of 10 years of software development experience. Expert-level proficiency in VB.NET and C# programming, including advanced features and best practices. Extensive and in-depth knowledge of the .NET Framework, including its core libraries, runtime, and advanced features, with proven experience in leveraging its capabilities for building robust and scalable applications. Proficiency in development tools and environments, such as Visual Studio, TFS or Git. Deep understanding of software design patterns, object-oriented programming (OOP), and SOLID principles. Extensive experience in SQL Server, Oracle or other relational databases, including writing complex queries, stored procedures, and performance optimization. Strong familiarity with Object-Relational Mapping (ORM) tools and frameworks, such as Entity Framework. Experience in writing and maintaining unit tests and using testing frameworks. Experience working in Agile development environments and familiarity with Scrum. Excellent in documenting code, processes, and systems to ensure clarity and maintainability. Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to tackle complex technical challenges and drive innovative solutions. Exceptional leadership and strategic thinking abilities, with experience in guiding technical teams and influencing technology decisions at an organizational level. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders. US Citizenship is required for this role. Compensation Info The U.S. salary range for this position is $109,000.00-$192,750.00. This range is subject to change as Deltek takes a number of factors into consideration when determining individual base pay, such as location, job-related knowledge, skills and experience.
