We are seeking a Deputy Program Manager (PM) to join a highly motivated team that will play a critical leadership role in shaping a critical satellite ground systems solution. The successful candidate will be tasked with three major roles: (1) Interface directly with the programis management team, including PM, SW Architect, and Chief Engineer, to maintain, update, and execute a Feature Roadmap to meet program requirements and objectives; (2) Help lead the program management office (PMO) on the program to ensure the program maintains cost and schedule; and (3) Help drive business expansion (BizX) efforts on the program. The candidate will play a critical role in ensuring that the program meets project needs in an agile software development environment.

Key focus areas will include leading the team in developing software solutions in support of satellite telemetry and commanding, archive trending and analysis, schedule execution via mission planning interfaces, task automation, and other core infrastructure and mission unique capabilities of the ground system. The candidate will work closely with project development, system engineering, test, deployment, and operations personnel.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to



  • Support guiding the agile development lifecycle from a customer perspective, including ensuring resulting artifacts meet customer expectations
  • Support the program management office with maintaining and updating the Integrated Master Schedule (IMS), Estimate at Complete (EAC), and staffing profile
  • Articulate technical concepts orally and in written forms to the customer, users, and internal stakeholders
  • Support tracking overall progression of tasks to ensure on-time & on-budget completion per the planned development release schedule
  • Support defining and documenting the SecDevOps Software Development Lifecycle and guiding the development team in executing that process

Required Experience:

  • 7+ years program management experience (or similar)
  • Experience with scheduling applications, including Microsoft Project
  • Experience managing program budgets and resources, including EACs
  • Experience leading implementation of Feature roadmaps, requirement traceability, and associated verification activities
  • Experience with using Jira Plans (aka Advanced Roadmaps) or similar tooling for tracking Feature implementation status
  • Self-motivated and comfortable with working with multiple groups of developers, engineers, and testers
  • Familiarity with Configuration Management Tools (e.g., Git, Atlassian tools, Nexus, CM Pro, etc.)


Preferred Skills and Experience



  • Experience in coordinating requirements with the customer and then defining/architecting a solution to satisfy them
  • Familiarity with cloud-based (specifically AWS) and Kubernetes-enabled applications
  • Familiarity with automated test scripting and tools (e.g, Bamboo, Behave)
  • Experience in satellite ground systems, specifically with real-time command and control (C2), ground communications, and antenna systems
  • Experience with SATCOM mission planning
  • Experience with SecDevOps processes and tools (e.g., Sonarqube, Splunk, Syft, etc.)

The grade-based pay range for this job is listed below. Individual salaries within that range are determined through a wide variety of factors including but not limited to education, experience, knowledge, and skills.

Competitive salary based on experience and education
Salary Range: $170,500-$190,000
