Commercial Strategy supporting the ESP Artificial Lift category within our Supply Chain Commodities and Material Management team based in Houston, TX. Company headquarters are located at Greenway Plaza.

Essential Job Duties:

  • Driving the collaboration efforts with business and functional leadership in establishing and executing the ESP Artificial Lift sourcing & value creation strategies for the corporation.
  • Category Manager for all ESP contracts and corresponding Procurement Strategies for domestic oil and gas assets. Contract management responsibilities include executing new contracts, term extensions, commercial amendments and terminating non-utilized contracts. Also works closely with the material management team for inventoried items and lease to lease transfers.
  • Preparing, submitting, and negotiating with Oxy's internal Legal team to support associated contractual terms and conditions (master service agreements, commercial terms, and purchase orders, etc.)
  • Communicating with internal stakeholders on strategy, policies/procedures, guidelines, and processes. The stakeholder/proponent group includes Worldwide Engineering, Artificial Lift SMEs, QA/QC team members, Production leads, Engineers, WOCs and field personnel.
  • Acting as the subject matter expert regarding contractual and financial aspects of ESP Artificial Lift contracts, which includes determining the most valuable sourcing method (RFx via Ariba vs. contract pricing etc.) for various projects
  • Managing the full life cycle for ESP Artificial Lift by advising proponents on the best fit vendor, executing the work order documents, evaluating vendor performance which includes quarterly business reviews, vendor KPI tracking, and working through warranty and NPT issues.
  • Acting as central point of contact between business unit proponents, vendor representatives, other key stakeholders and internal Legal team.
  • Pre-qualifying new and re-qualifying existing Suppliers, while assuring full compliance with the HES (Contractor Safety Program).
  • Working in multiple ERP Systems modules (Purchase Requisitions, Purchase Orders, Supplier Registration, Sourcing Strategy, Contract Development and Implementation, Supplier Performance and Contract Close out).
  • Primary interface with Internal Audit (Supplier audits), Finance - A/P (Invoice reconciliation), HES (Contractor approval and set-up), and Risk Management (Insurance levels and exceptions).
  • Monitor assigned contracts to ensure suppliers comply with established terms and conditions.
  • Participate in and facilitate Supplier Performance Meetings.

Qualifications:

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree, preferably in Business Administration or Supply Chain Management
  • Years of Experience - 7+
  • Strong contract analysis, drafting and negotiation skills
  • Strong communication skills and ability to communicate thoughts in a clear, concise, coherent manner
  • Strong time management skills, highly organized, and detailed oriented
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong cross-functional communication skills, teamwork and interpersonal skills
  • Strong knowledge of basic analytical and Microsoft Office software programs
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently, decisiveness, and sound judgment
  • Must be comfortable with change in all its facet and be to help assist others through change

Desired Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of procurement principles, theories and processes (preferred)
  • Systems - SAP, Ariba, Spotfire
  • Microsoft Suite of Application - Including Excel
  • Strong experience managing relationships with Artificial Lift Providers
  • Strong knowledge of Oil and Gas Artificial Lift types and materials
