DESCRIPTION OF WORK

In this position, you will manage, plan, implement, and evaluate public health services and initiatives within the Northcentral and Southcentral Districts. Your work will involve reviewing county level assessments annually to ensure district and county health priorities are recognized and addressed, as well as planning and directing health promotion and risk reduction activities in the districts accordingly. You will provide on-call coverage for 1-877 PA Health for urgent public health concerns. You will also collaborate with the Bureau of Epidemiology, Bureau of Communicable Diseases, and Bureau of Immunizations to ensure that all reportable diseases, selected non-reportable diseases, and outbreaks are investigated. Some of your duties will include monitoring community health programs, overseeing district emergency preparedness plans, and coordinating training. Additionally, you will provide consultation to DOH staff, supervisors, health professionals, and community partners on public health issues via phone, email, and in-person communication. This position is headquartered in the Southcentral District and may be located in one of the following counties depending on the location of the selected candidate: Adams, Bedford, Blair, Cumberland, Dauphin, Franklin, Fulton, Huntingdon, Juniata, Lebanon, Mifflin, Perry, and York Interested in learning more? - Full-time employment
- Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
- Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in one of the above counties. The ability to telework is subject to change at any time. Additional details may be provided during the interview.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- Four years of professional community or public health nursing experience supplemented by two years of experience supervising registered nurses; or
- An equivalent combination of experience and training that includes three years of professional community or public health nursing experience supplemented by two years of experience supervising registered nurses.
Special Requirement:
- All positions require active authorization to practice as a Registered Nurse in Pennsylvania.
- All employees possessing an active temporary practice permit must obtain licensure as a Registered Nurse within the one (1) year period defined by the Pennsylvania State Board of Nursing.
Other Requirements:
- PA residency requirement is currently waived for this title.
- You must be able to perform essential job functions.
Legal Requirements:
- You must pass a background investigation.
- This position falls under the provisions of the Child Protective Services Law.
