The hiring manager may elect to fill this position as an engineer II or one level higher as an engineer III dependent upon the experience of the selected candidate. This role performs engineering studies, calculations, and settings development for substation protective relays. Responsibilities focus on applying new protective relaying for planned projects, as well as successful integration of new designs into existing legacy designs where required. This role also provides support and troubleshooting for implementation and commissioning of designed relays/protective systems as needed by field technicians. Additional tasks include support requests for stakeholder teams including Transmission Planning, Account Management, Tech Support, Operations, Asset Management and Compliance teams. This role is at the advancing-level engineer who solves moderately complex protection engineering problems with limited supervision and increasing independence and manages work tasks with limited supervision and prompting.
