Position Summary
The Health Care Administrator I assists with coordination of activities in the Psychiatry Child Clinic including supervision of the front office clerical staff.

Duties & Responsibilities
Direct, supervise and evaluate clerical staff. Train and orient new staff on clinic-specific policies and procedures.
Conduct daily huddles and plan accordingly based on staffing level.
Manage staff schedules, monitor time and attendance, prepare productivity reports as needed.
Assist and cover front desk when staffing is low.
Provide appropriate communication, guidance, and education as necessary to clerical and clinical staff to improve operational and financial metrics.
Responsible for submission of template builds and changes for newly hired clinicians as well as established clinicians.
Coordinate clinic purchases, manage inventory, prepare, and maintain supply budget.
Serve as a resource concerning hospital administrative procedures and policies to subordinates and other administrative personnel ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.
Compile and analyze operational data to identify and improve organizational performance and efficiency.
Investigate patient complaints and employee issues.
Monitor patient comments from survey feedback, work on process improvement where needed to increase patient satisfaction.
Perform related duties as assigned.

Perform other related duties and participate in special projects as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Any one or any combination, that equals 3 years (36 months) of the following types of preparation--
    • college course work leading to a major in hospital administration, health administration, or business administration, or similar area of study
      • Associate Degree (60 semester hours) equals 1 year (12 months)
      • 90-semester hours equals 2 years (24 months)
      • Bachelor's Degree (120 semester hours) equals 3 years (36 months)

      OR

    • progressively more responsible experience that provided a knowledge of generally accepted principles, theories, and practices used in hospital administration, health administration, business administration or similar professional experience
  • One year (12 months) of hospital/medical center/health care administrative work experience

    OR

    College course work leading to a Master's Degree in hospital administration, health administration, business administration or similar area of study


KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs)

Knowledge of business administration
Knowledge of automated systems
Interpersonal skills
Ability to supervise, lead and direct
Ability to assemble, analyze, and display data to define and illustrate specific problems or needs.
